Acappella The Musical is coming to the New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) in July 2015! You're invited to join the journey as we bring this one-of-a-kind musical spectacular to Broadway! We've put together an award-winning creative team and we're gathering world-class talent to create the next acappella sensation! It's a romantic comedy featuring soul-stirring, foot-stomping good music and a ton of laughs! All featuring 100% LIVE acappella singing! We've got 5 performances lined up for you, and we're excited to announce that Acappella The Musical is the opening night performance for this year's festival! Tuesday, July 7th @7pm at The PTC Performance Space, 555 West 42nd Street New York, NY 10036.
The Story
Growing up in the church choir of a small southern town, Jeremiah and Simon were very close. Jeremiah and Sarah were even closer. Promising a quick return, Jeremiah jumped at an opportunity to fill in for a few weeks as a back-up singer for a touring pop group. It would be some years before his friends would see him again.
On the cusp of his first international tour, Jeremiah is adrift in superficial connections and professional relationships. He makes a surprise visit to his hometown on the eve of its centennial celebration. His surprise visit stirs things up. Belying the fans and fanfare, not everyone is happy to see him. Jeremiah is disappointed that Sarah and Simon have moved on, but is it love or just nostalgia? Is he running towards something he wants or running away from something he fears? The message of this romantic comedy is reflected in the style of its music – acappella.
The Music
Now every vision has a genesis! The musical numbers featured in the production are the celebrated songs of 'The Acappella Company' - more commonly known as 'Acappella'. The group has sold well over three million units and toured every continent on the globe since Keith Lancaster - songwriter, producer, and original lead singer - formed the group. Believing in the awesome versatility and flexibility of the human voice, this renowned vocal group can fill a large concert hall with beautiful, intricate music without ever plucking a string or beating a drum.

The Plan
Where do we go after NYMF?? Hopefully to a city - or a country - near you! The acappella scene is exploding and our vision is for a national and international tour! And if all goes well - back to Broadway! Now, of course there's no guarantee of that - but we're going to make sure that some of the most prominent commercial producers in the world get to see this show. So we like our chances!
