Affirm This!
The success of the Community-Based Mentoring Program (CBMP) mentees is proof of the Promise of Gwinnett. This program is helping to keep that promise. This program works. Help us grow it. Help us double our number of mentors to 400 and triple our number of mentees to 1,500 by Spring 2018. Show you believe in mentoring. Show you believe in these students. Volunteer, donate, or share our story with friends, family, and colleagues. For more information go to www.affirmthis.org.
Mentoring Matters
Mentoring builds individuals, schools, families, and communities. Gwinnett County has been enjoying the benefits of the GCPS Community-Based Mentoring Program since 2009. When it started, the program provided academic and social support to approximately 60 African-American middle school students through a devoted group of 25+ mentors offering their love, compassion, and empathy. Today, more than 500 Gwinnett middle and high school students are mentored by over 200 adult volunteers. Mentoring matters.
Mentoring Works
This campaign was created to expand the mentoring program's outreach, enrich its mentee programming, and recruit qualified mentors. We depend upon private donations and sponsors. We are asking friends, family, and colleagues who believe in the value of mentoring to help us grow. Foremost, consider becoming a mentor. Or, consider making a small donation. Above all, please share this campaign with your family, friends, colleagues, and neighbors. Spread the word—Mentoring works!
Brighter Futures
The goal of our mentoring program is simple: we provide social and academic development that ensures all male students graduate from high school on time and that they are prepared for successful transition to post-secondary education and/or the workforce. With the support of sponsors, county officials, counselors, teachers, parents, staff and 200+ mentors, we're achieving our mission.
The Promise of Gwinnett
Last year, all high school senior mentees graduated on time. Many joined our program in middle school. All are on the road to advanced education, military, jobs, and fulfilling lives. CBMP mentors are helping students mature, cope, advance, and learn to believe in themselves. Show you value mentoring. Volunteer. Donate. Share this campaign with family and friends. Help us do more of what works. Help us grow the GCPS Community-Based Mentoring Program.
