Post All-Star Ultimate Tour update!
Thank you to all of the donations that made the All-Star Ultimate Tour possible! We traveled throughout the country and were greeted by fans in stands excited about #womeninultimate and #genderequity.
Check us out on our Website, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for full-game footage, highlights, clips, blog posts, and photos!
From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU!
Update! 7/8/16
Wow! We have reached the goal of $12,000. However, your support does not stop here! We still need your help - I'm excited to be working on this project together!
Stretch goal $17,000:
1. A picture is worth a thousand words
We'd really like to be able to tell the story of this tour through images. Help us compensate professional photographers to shoot our games.
2. Keep the athletes fresh.
At the end of games, players will have been on their feet for over 6 hours - including setup, playing, and breakdown. Help us afford the small things that professional athletes need to recover to keep performing at the highest level.
3. Players sleep soundly!
Van breaks down? Game rained out? Low attendance in a city? With this extra funding, we'll have a security net to be able to sleep soundly and know that we won't be paying out of pocket for uncontrollables.
4. Remember
Any profit from the All-Star Ultimate Tour will always go towards promoting #womeninultimate!
What is the All-Star Ultimate Tour?
A roster of college-aged All-Stars will travel from Seattle to Boston, stopping in 9 cities to play the top women's club ultimate frisbee teams. The Tour's mission is to promote women in ultimate by providing showcase opportunities for female athletes. Through post-production of game footage, we are also achieving our goal of increasing the amount of high quality media devoted to female athletes.
Why is this still an important issue?
Last year's tour was a big step for women in ultimate, but gender equity is an ongoing issue that affects us all. Working together to create a more equitable future is an opportunity to strengthen our community and lead by example to influence gender equity in all sports. The All-Star Ultimate Tour, as well as community leaders, organizations, and ultimate publications have furthered the conversation on gender equity, and primed us to take action. There isn't a single answer to gender inequity in our society, but continuing this project is a step in the right direction.
What value are we creating?
In addition to access - both in-person and online - to 9 exciting games, we are providing you with an opportunity to take part in a bigger movement to increase gender equity in ultimate. The All-Star Ultimate Tour means more opportunities for women to play, more coverage of female athletes, and increased visibility of female role models for young players. Make no mistake, the effects of the All-Star Ultimate Tour will continue beyond just these nine games played. This movement will shape and inform the future of ultimate.

What was the impact of the 2015 tour?
The 2015 All-Star Ultimate Tour increased attention around women in our sport. Three thousand fans came out to games, 48 thousand watched online, and many more caught clips featured on national television. Numbers aside, the tour created role-models in the women's division and increased the hype around the All-Stars as well as the players on host teams.
Here’s a rundown of the value created by the 2015 Tour:
9 showcase games: 9 competitive games showcased players from across the country and promoted visibility of female role models in ultimate.
High quality media: Each game was livestreamed at no cost, increasing instantaneous and permanent media of women in ultimate.
Sportscenter and local TV spots: High-quality livestreamed footage garnered outside media attention. Two replays were featured on Sportscenter, and Fox 12 Oregon did a spot on the Tour.
Highlight media: Recap videos added to the repertoire of media of female players.
Youth coaching outreach: Qxhna presented on how the All-Star Ultimate Tour created value for athletes in the ultimate community at the Bay Area Disc Alliance Youth Ultimate Coaches Conference 2016.
All-Star Ultimate Tour: The Documentary: Full-length feature documentary addressing some challenging questions - How do we value male and female athletes differently? How does the media affect how we value athletes? Poster and teaser, on-demand link coming soon.
*This success was made possible by the outpouring of support from the ultimate community around this project.
How are we increasing impact for the 2016 All-Star Ultimate Tour?
Since last year's All-Star Ultimate Tour was such a success, we want to burst into 2016 with the same mission, goals, and energy to keep up momentum for this movement.
Here’s how we plan to increase the impact of the 2016 Tour:
2 new communities: Same tour format (9 games) but 2 new cities. For All-Star Ultimate Tour 2016 we decided to include Raleigh and San Francisco, because of their active ultimate communities.
Youth Clinics: We are excited to give back to the ultimate community in 2016 by organizing, or being part of clinics whenever possible.
More media: Every game will recorded and uploaded to youtube, thanks to you, increasing the amount of media surrounding women in ultimate.
Increase outreach: Building on momentum from 2015, we’re making sure communities are even more informed, included, and excited for this year’s Tour than last.
Continue the Conversation: Gender inequality is a reality. The Tour will continue to promote discussion around these issues in ultimate, so that we as a community can lead the way in the global movement for equity.
Who is heading the All-Star Ultimate Tour 2016?
Qxhna Titcomb, the founder of the Tour, will be organizing it again this year. She notes: “I'm excited to build on the momentum created by the 2015 All-Star Ultimate Tour. This year, I'm looking to increase our impact and to continue promoting women in ultimate!"

What are we asking for?
In 2015 we had the generous support of the E.R.I.C broadcasting crew which boosted our live-streaming media capabilities. This year, we are tackling our media strategy on our own.
Most of the All-Star Ultimate Tour is self-sustained through ticket sales and sponsorships but unfortunately, that is not enough. We need the community's help to put on this great show and deliver top quality media of female athletes.
This year we will again produce high-quality game footage in post-production, free and available to everyone all over the world. Our media plan will include game footage with slow-motion replays and full commentating as well as recap videos, interviews, and behind-the-scenes insights.
Help us produce permanent media of some of the world’s best flatballin’ athletes!
