About 20 children and teens per day in the U.S. went
to the emergency room with a gun injury in 2009, according to a new study of ER
data. Six percent ultimately died from their injuries.
The 1st mold trial has been completed for all molds. A second mold trial for the Inner Cover took place today, 11-14-15. See this trial at: https://youtu.be/C9itAdrk26I. See pictures of the Inner Cover in the gallery.
The Lid and Case molds are being adjusted currently. The 2nd mold trial for these molds will take place on 11/21/15. The following week we will begin assembly production. Initially, we will produce 20 cases and provide them to some of the initial backers and request feedback from them for final adjustments and tweaking.
Artemis is an affordable and secure biometric gun case that will protect you and your family.

Design Features:
The fingerprint scanner, similar to those found on a smart
phone, is a secure and reliable alternative to the traditional lock and key or
push-button combination type mechanism.
After five failed attempts, an alarm will sound alerting parents of
tampering. The alarm is silenced with
any preprogramed fingerprint.
The discrete design allows you to store the case in an
accessible location without attracting attention.
Powered by four AA batteries, Artemis keeps your gun secure
at all times. Batteries only need to be
replaced about once a year or after about 4,000 operations. If the batteries are running low, similar to
a smoke alarm, an alarm will sound notifying you they need to be replaced soon.
Why Artemis?
About Artemis:

Polymer
Description:
The case is
constructed of a weapons grade polycarbonate polymer. This is one of the key factors in making
Artemis so affordable. These same
polymers are used in the production of bulletproof glass and military armor.

Artemis
Fingerprint Scanner:
The
fingerprint scanner is similar to those found on modern smartphones. It can record up to 200 unique fingerprints
with its high capacity memory, allowing those you chose easy access if needed
while you are away.
![]()
Programming
fingerprints:
The
programming process for the fingerprints is similar to the process used for unlocking
newer smartphones. Simply push the interior
programming button to begin scanning a finger at various angles to program the
fingerprint. Once programmed, the case
will open only upon scanning an authorized fingerprint or by using the
high-security tubular lock key provided.

Lock Mechanism:
The Artemis case comes with a tubular key (sometimes
referred to as a barrel key), which can fit easily on any keychain. The key will allow you access for the initial
set-up or to change the batteries if needed. A replacement key can be provided if lost by
calling with the serial number of your case.

Alarm Maintenance:
If batteries are running low, or there are five
unauthorized attempts to access the case, an alarm will sound to alert parents,
which can simply be silenced by a recognized fingerprint scan or by using the
provided key.

Who We Are:
Wayne and Maggi, founders of Jones LLC, are parents of three
and grandparents of seven. They saw the
need to secure their home. They explored
various avenues of gun security and in doing so they realized cost was a major
factor stopping many from securing their guns.
Most options were too expensive and were not reliable.
Wayne and Maggi became determined to remove this
barrier. With over 40 year of experience
converting metal products to plastic, they developed a low-cost, reliable gun
case. Cost and reliability are no longer
reasons to carelessly leave your home-defense weapon unsecure, exposing your
family to needless harm associated with the curiosity of the innocent.
Wayne has
been in the product development and manufacturing fields for over 45 years. He is a Master Certified Tool
and Die Maker. Wayne developed a program and taught technical college at the
DAVC in Kaysville, Utah for computer-aided design (CAD) and manufacturing
(CAM). He has developed and/or assisted
in the development of over a thousand products, most of which have primarily
been plastic; these products range from confectionary items to SoftSpikes golf
cleats. Wayne holds many patents and is
the founder of 15 companies.
Maggi is a partner in, or a member of, several business
entities ranging from a craft supplies manufacturer to a real estate investment
company. She provides consultation services, creative direction, package
design, and performs various duties based upon individual business entity
needs. Maggi holds a Master's degree in Social Work. She has worked as a social worker in elementary schools which has given her personal insights into the need to better protect our innocent. Her experience as a member of the Idaho Department of Health & Welfare, Assertive Community Treatment Team has highlighted this need even more. Innocence lost can never be recovered and the horrible impact of an accidental shooting to an involved family is almost impossible to recover from. The value of an once of prevention cannot be overstated.
FAQ:
Q. What makes Artemis DIFFERENT from cases
currently on the market?
A. 1.
Artemis is made to protect the INNOCENT from the gun -- Not the GUN
from an INTRUDER. I feel this is the
reason they call their cases saves or vaults.
Artemis is a child-resistant case. If an adult takes a screwdriver to the existing metal cases now on the market, an adult can break into it.
2. It is the only case on the market
with a fingerprint scanner that works for under $170.00. The “Second Touch Scanner” technology is
unique, reliable and simple to program and operate and specifically developed,
by Jones LLC, for use in a gun case. On
this site, until the limit has been reached, you can purchase an Artemis case
for $79.00. Considerably less than half
of the price of the next semi-reliable, “gun safe” on the market. The “Second Touch Scanner” alone costs the
manufacture more than half of this cost.
3. Artemis is made of polycarbonate, an
engineering polymer that the plastics industry classifies as unbreakable. This polymer makes Artemis very child-resistant
yet affordable. The bumper on your car
is plastic. In many instances, plastic
is superior to metal.
Q. Is Artemis powered only by batteries or can it be plugged in?
A. Only batteries. However, it will make a sound similar to a smoke alarm when the batteries need to be replaced. Once a year replacement is sufficient.
Q. Which guns can fit in the case?
A. Most weapons designed for concealed
carry and sub-compact pistols will fit comfortably inside the Artemis case as
well as a limited amount of additional storage capacity.
Most model 1911 handguns will fit well.

Q. Can the case be factory re-set to delete previously stored
fingerprints?
A. Yes. The
case is equipped with a factory reset button on the inside that can only be
used once access is granted into the case.
Q. Is it water and fire proof?
A. No.
Artemis case is designed to provide a secure way to house your gun from curious
hands. It is designed to be a low-cost secure alternative to bulky, expensive
competitor versions.
Q. Does it come in any other sizes, colors, etc.?
A. Not yet.
Our intention is to provide different sizes in the future to fit all of your
personal needs for securing firearms such as a case for a purse or travel, rifles
and shotguns.
Q. Will the case be available for purchase at brick and mortar
stores?
A. Not at first. To start the Artemis case is only available online
in order to keep the price low, which will allow it to be available to anyone.
Q. Who is the case for?
A. Artemis
is designed for anyone who wants to protect themselves while protecting the
innocent.
