The Maker Faire is a celebration of local maker culture and community.
It is a gathering of fascinating, curious people who enjoy learning and who
love sharing what they can do. India is yet to host such a celebration on a
grand scale as a Maker Faire but is headed for one in 2016. As a precursor to
it, Workbench Projects in collaboration with NASSCOM is hosting the first ever
“Mini Maker Faire” in India.
This year we really want to inspire our youth and support their
passions in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and the arts. Part of
the STEM+A inspiration comes from bringing together other makers from the
community: professionals from multinationals, local business leaders, educators,
schools, colleges, universities, hacker spaces and other independent
organizations. We aim to make Bengaluru Mini Maker Faire 2015 a community-based
learning event that inspires anyone and everyone to become a maker, an event
which is engaging, active and above all fun! We encourage any organization who
wishes to be a part of fostering new innovations and furthering the maker’s
spirit in India to come forward and work with us to make this event a success
and spearhead it towards the prestigious Maker Faire next year!
