Hi all! We are Jules and Stephen - founders of BizBaz Club. We founded BizBaz 5 years ago on the basis of community over competition to foster a safe and inclusive space for artists and lovers of art! We house 150+ artists from all around the world and sell their art. We are a one-stop-shop for flair. We also host virtual and in-person events along with creating our own original art featuring our mascots: Doki, BizBaz, NiteNite, and King Tux.
We have had 2 brick and mortars over the last 5 years and currently are set up in East Village located in downtown San Diego. We have the opportunity to expand our current shoebox-sized shop (where we also reside above - yes it is cramped!) to an established brewery that we have been working with on a monthly basis for a year now: New Motion Beverages. We host our in-person artist market here each month and have built a strong bond with their team. Their current coffee vendor is exiting and they have given us the opportunity to set up shop, which is why you are reading this campaign.
We already have a very strong SoCal community due to our storefront and events so we will be bringing our storefront aspect to the brewery. We also want to incorporate something brand new with this endeavor.... BOBA TEA! We have wanted to do this for a while but just haven't had the right opportunity. Our demographic loves boba. Anytime we have added boba to our pop-up events, the event does significantly better from a turnout and profit perspective. A lot of the art we sell is boba-themed, and those items always sell better too.
We would incorporate boba into our current BizBaz branding and try to experiment with Boozy Boba at New Motion too.
It's important to have nonalcoholic beverages available at New Motion for those who choose/cannot drink alcohol so we would be filling that gap. We would also offer an entirely vegan menu of boba drinks and imported candy to align with our own personal dietary choices.

Here's what we need:
- Right now, Jules (head of Ops) still maintains a full time day job. This is BizBaz's chance to go "all in" on their business and we need a responsible cushion to achieve this. Between a personal loan and small personal savings, we have $20,000 currently but need closer to $40,000 to both set up this new shop and to have Jules leave their day job so the goal with this campaign is to reach at least $20,000.
- BizBaz Club is a club for anybody who wants to join. There is nothing like us in the community that offers this all in one package of shopping small, drinking delicious drinks, and most importantly....community.
- If we do not reach our main goal, the funds will still go to the start up costs of this new endeavor: furniture, boba supplies, and things of that nature. We will be pursuing this new chapter no matter what!

Helping us reach our goal will allow us to fully pursue this new adventure.
- Balancing a full time day job in addition to BizBaz Boba is not impossible, but it will be extremely tough! We want to be able to fully dedicate our time and energy to this next chapter of BizBaz Club without sacrificing our mental and physical health.
- We have overcome SO MANY hurdles in the past 5 years and will maintain our drive for BizBaz Club. We have had 2 successful storefronts already and endured COVID without needing to close our business. We are ready for this next step in our journey.
- We have such a passion for what we are doing and want to keep growing. This is the next step we need to take in order to reach the next level in our business.

We have purposefully pursued BizBaz at a more steady and slow pace to build a very strong foundation for when we are ready to go all in.
- Jules and Stephen have worked full time day jobs for the past 5 years to have stability while running BizBaz. Stephen will still work his day job to cover a portion of our personal bills but this endeavor should really have one person dedicated fully.
- Worse case scenario, Jules will still balance her full time, remote day job until it's not needed anymore. This is not ideal since that will mentally be extremely exhausting and hard to balance at times.
- Outside of that, our overhead for this location is extremely low. Our projections, even just based on our current monthly sales without boba, will allow us to pay our rent at New Motion and any other business expenses that pop up so we know this is the opportunity we've been waiting on for BizBaz.
