A Message from Felissa Rose about Bloody Summer Camp
Welcome To Camp
Hello to everyone who is just discovering us. Back in the summer, we ran a successful crowdfunding campaign for Bloody Summer Camp and raised over $12,500! It was enough to get the ball rolling and book the camp and it allowed us to bring horror icon Felissa Rose on board as Camp Director Crowell. Since then, we became fully cast and started filming scenes back in September. We had to stop due to the weather changing but we are completely booked to continue filming from March to May. Because we want to bring you the best movie possible, we came up with some new perks and now we're back for one final crowdfunder to help us make this movie exactly the way it should be made without cutting any corners. This is a flexible campaign so we don't need to raise all of the $10,000 BUT if we can hit $10,000, we will include a second horror celebrity in the film.

What is Bloody Summer Camp?
Official Synopsis- In 1986, counselors at Camp Trustfall are preparing for the new summer. It's all fun and games until one of the new counselors goes missing. Now, an evil lurks in the darkness. Is it the camp legend come to life or does someone else have an axe to grind?
Bloody Summer Camp is a new 80's summer camp slasher. We are trying to create a new horror film that stays true to the 80's slasher style and feel. Our camp in the film, Camp Trustfall, is a real kids summer camp that we are filming at. We have actual 80's music from an 80's punk band that will be featured in the film and our musical composer Adam Robertson is going to make a score that will hopefully match something right out of an 80's film. Our killer, Devilface, wears a leather devil mask, a black members only jacket and black isotoner gloves. His eyes are blackened out and his skin is completely covered because we wanted the killer to be able to be anyone to keep you guessing until the end.

We are currently crowdfunding for additional funds to help with the rest of production and post production. Filming has already began on Bloody Summer Camp and is expected to wrap up at the end of Spring 2020. We're raising more funds so that we can afford to make the film better with better lighting, a great score, and professional sound mixing. We don't want a small budget to dictate certain parts of the film. One example is: We have an amazing composer in mind for the score to give it the right 80's feel that the movie deserves but unless we raise enough money to pay him, we may have to resort to using a different composer who is cheaper or possibly free. The lighting is another example. We can film the movie with what we have but if we are able to spend some money to kick up the lighting in some crucial scenes, it'll be a better overall viewing experience for the audience.

As we said above, our goal is flexible so we don't have a limit that we have to reach BUT if we are able to raise $10,000, we will bring another horror celebrity into Bloody Summer Camp. We can not tell you who until the money is raised but last time we brought you Felissa Rose so you know we keep our promises.

The film is already being made and it will be finished regardless of how much money we raise BUT the difference between what it ends up being with the additional funds verses without would probably be significant. Either way, we're putting our all into this film because we want you and all of our contributors to enjoy what we create. We just want to make the movie right so any contributions we raise are going to help make something in the film better. No money is wasted, it all goes to something.

Who Are We?
I am Dave Kerr, an indie horror writer, producer and director. I am the creator of Slasher 15 Productions and I am a horror fan just like you. This film is my passion project. After completing my first two horror films Curse of the Slasher Nurse (2017) and Return of the Slasher Nurse (2019), I decided that if I were to make a third film, it would be the film that I want to make. No other time or place in all of film do I think is more suitable for a horror movie than a summer camp in the 80's. You're in the middle of nowhere, your only communication to the outside world is a single phone line that can be cut and your friends are dropping like flies but you don't even notice. It's the perfect set up and they were done so well. Movies like The Burning, Friday the 13th and Sleepaway Camp had all the right elements to make an entertaining movie: Isolated locations, memorable characters, practical effects and even some comedy. You want to know why reboots and remakes keep happening? Because people miss the golden age of these movies. The only problem is that when they're remade, they get taken out of that era and brought into modern times with cellphones and Abercrombie and Fitch models for characters. That's why so many people hate them. At the same time, the reason all these movies and shows like Stranger Things are doing well is because they take place during that perfect time in the 80's.

Amber Fulcher, who co-produced both of the Slasher Nurse films will be joining me again as a producer and she will also be doing all the special effects for the film. Amber is an even bigger horror fan than I am and her attention to detail is vital with a film that needs to take place over 30 years ago.

Newcomers Michael McGlynn and Jaime Weisman have joined Slasher 15 Productions on our latest project as Executive Producers. Mike and Jaime have already made themselves a valuable resource in helping promote Bloody Summer Camp as well as and will be very active behind the camera in helping make this movie great.

Wayne Townsend is an indie horror movie producer (Eaten alive in Uganda) and a huge horror movie lover. I met Wayne after my first film and helped us with Return of the Slasher Nurse and since he shared my love of horror films, I decided to bring him in as a producer to help make sure this movie turns out true to the 80's slasher style.

WE ARE HORROR FANS
![]()
We care because we are horror fans first. I'm not a director who directs whatever film a studio puts in front of me. I'm a horror fan who wasn't entirely satisfied with today's horror films and the need for reboots so I decided to take my passion and use it to create my own horror films. And unlike big budget movies that make unnecessary cuts to films because the studio tells them they have to, we can make the movie that we want to make and hopefully the movie you want to see. And you don't have to worry about us trying to turn our film into a PG-13 crapfest trying to reach a wider audience. We know what what we, as horror fans, want. We want gore, we want unapologetic behavior and we want gratuitous nudity because that's what slasher films do. That is why our film will be unrated.
What's the money being used for?
![]()
The majoring of our funds will be going to post production. This consists of sound effects, color grading and sound mixing done. In order to make the film better, we need to raise the additional funds to pay for these services and items. The next thing we need to fund is the musical score. Adam does amazing work and he's cutting us a great deal on the score but we still need to raise the money to pay for it. Next, is production. We still have some things left to pay for in the production. We need things like car decals, additional costumes, lighting, more money for gore effects, etc. The last thing we have to raise money for is the Indiegogo perk fulfillment to fulfill all the perks that are owed to everyone who contributes to this crowdfunder. That is what we are raising money for and our crowdfunder is flexible so we don't have to reach a specific goal BUT as an added bonus, if we can raise $10,000, we will bring a second horror celebrity into the movie. We can not say who that person would be until we hit the $10,000 mark but last time we got Felissa Rose so I promise the next one will be just as great.
Past Accomplishments
As mentioned above, this will be our third film. Our first film, was made on a very low budget of only $6,000 and we had to purchase all of our equipment out of that budget as well. However, with such a low budget, our film exceeded expectations from most and garnered mixed review. A lot of the negative remarks though were because of the low sound quality, the poor camera work and the amateurish acting. All of these things we were aware of while filming but couldn't do anything about at the time. I was unable to secure a cinematographer so I had to film the first movie myself which is why the camera work was less than desirable. We had bad sound because of the equipment that we bought on the budget that we had. The acting was because starting out as an unknown filmmaker, we had to use whoever was willing to work with us.
Despite all those things holding us back though, we still received positive reviews:
"An old school horror movie, for old school horror fans." - IMDB User
"Definitely an ode to the classic slasher films." - Amazon Prime Member
"With heavy influence from John Carpenter’s Halloween seasoned with elements from the Friday the 13th franchise, this film brings back a simple yet effective aspect in horror missing from many studio films of today." - Pophorror.com
"For an amateur feature on a micro-budget, Curse of the Slasher Nurse is a great beginning to Kerr’s filmmaking career." - Pophorror.com
"I watched!! Great Nurse!" - Lloyd Kaufman
Since then, Curse of the Slasher Nurse was released on Amazon Prime and Binge Horror and picked up for distribution by indie horror distributor, Screamtime films.
By the second film, we fixed all 3 of the major problems from the first film. We upgraded our sound equipment, I brought on Owen Young to do the Cinematography and we were able to audition for the cast and brought in some experienced actors and actresses from other indie horror films. Our sequel is complete and premiered at Creature Feature Weekend in August of 2019.
Risks and Challenges
There is low risk for us and none you. The film is already getting made and every dollar we raise helps us make the film better so if we don't reach our $10,000 goal, we still can still talk what we do raise and put it towards finishing the film. However, we are hoping to raise at least $5,000 to put towards finishing the film and unless we hit the $10,000 mark, we wouldn't be able to bring in a second horror celebrity to the film. We would love to bring in someone else into the film that the fans would love but the only way that we can do that is if we hit the $10,000 mark because everything else that we are raising money for comes first and take priority. And as for you, the contributor, I have ran multiple crowdfunders in the past on both Indiegogo and Kickstarter for my previous films and I have delivered on not only making the film but also making sure everyone got the perks that they paid for so you can trust that you'll get what you paid for.
