WHAT IS BLUNDERLAND
Decadent, irreverent, hilarious, queer, psychedelic, naughty, and surreal
Born out of both New York Underground Club and contemporary cabaret culture. We are more than just another variety show, we are a call to arms for a life lived at the limits of your imagination, an insistence on expression, a seduction, and heady dose of more than the legal amount of mischief.
A decade in and we are one of the premier variety shows in NYC with monthly shows at the infamous House of Yes. 2 Years ago we started doing shows in New Orleans followed by London and now in 2020, it is time for our greatest adventure yet as we head down to AUSTRALIA for the Adelaide Fringe Festival!!!
12 artists representing our casts from each of our current home bases will perform a run of 27 shows at the largest arts festival in the southern hemisphere!!!
What we need...
Well, we started looking at numbers and to our surprise, airlines do not allow you to treat them like a clown car. So a real budget happened and it had many zeros, the number we kept coming up with was between $85,000 and $120,000. WOW!!
Why so many zeros?!?
Well...
- Festival: Fees, equipment, marketing, printing, tech, insurance.
- Artists: Airfare, housing, and payment for 12 performers for 5 weeks in Australia
- Creative: Aerial equipment, costumes, design, media, music licensing
It all adds up!! To present a brilliant show on the other side of the globe is AMBITIOUS!! So we started raising funds and now are so close!! With about $35,000 we can make this incredibly ambitious show happen and take it around the world!!! With more the sky is the limit to what we can do!!!

The Impact
Blunderland is as much about community as it is about entertainment, we have been lucky in how we have created an international web of weirdos and wondermakers, we participate in the artistic and local communities we perform in. We create opportunities for our performers and foster collaboration between various creatives.
There are very few American shows in the genre of variety which have tackled the international circuit in the way we are about to!
Here we are, a show that started a decade ago about to play 27 shows in a 450 seat circus tent halfway around the world. And that is just the beginning!!
