FERAL is moving to 3936 Tennyson St., the historic Flesher-Hinton building. It's beautiful, it has soul, and it has been an anchor in the neighborhood since the early 1900's. We're creating a world class independent outdoor shop AND preserving a part of the Berkeley neighborhood's history at the same time. 100% of the funds raised from this campaign will go towards build out costs.

As a result of the quick turnaround for this move, and the increased space and overhead, we have a funding gap to make this move happen. As we considered all options, we realized that we've always built FERAL through collaborative engagement with our community. Why would we do this any differently?

We're excited to release the design of the Limited Edition FERAL t-shirt! Only available here, never to be sold in-store. The shirt itself will be our buttery-soft tri-blend shirt that we've always used for our FERAL shirts. You'll want to wear this thing to bed. Hope you love it!

4,400 sq. ft of open air space filled with vintage touches and a design that harkens back to a different era. The building operated as a theater and has been home to several businesses over the past century. Exposed brick walls, an open truss ceiling, a large mezzanine, and just the right amount of space to build a beautiful and thoughtfully-designed shop.

The new store will offer:
-
5X more retail space than the original FERAL. More brands, more categories, more adventure. No more "sorry, we don't have room for that..."
-
Dedicated rental gear counter. You'll be able to pick up and drop off your rentals quicker than ever in the new shop.
-
Cottage Industry Lab. We will have a space dedicated to highlighting the industry's up and coming brands. Small batch brands are woefully underrepresented in the chain stores and we want to give you the opportunity to touch and feel homegrown products from the small guys.

-
More events and collaborations. With the increased space we will be hosting more events, classes, and unique partnerships with other Denver-based organizations. More parties!
-
Private community meeting space. The upstairs mezzanine will be available for corporate meetings, birthday parties, and your unique gatherings (*See perk opportunity). Admit it, everyone is tired of traditional conference rooms.
-
Bringing the neon sign back to life! The Flesher-Hinton neon sign is an iconic feature of the neighborhood. With this move we want to refurbish the sign with our branding and light that baby back up again.
-
Hints and touches of the old FERAL shop. You will find subtle features throughout the space that you will recognize from the original FERAL location.

In short, we are a local and independent outdoor gear shop in Denver, CO.
We want to be a hub for adventure junkies of all types in the greatest adventure city in America. Not only because we carry great gear, but because we are building an inclusive and collaborative community that people want to be a part of.
We are quirky. We are irreverent. We are retail renegades.

We want to show that locally-grown independent businesses can prosper in Denver. We want to show that we can push back against the corporatization of retail. We want to show that as the buildings on our street get taller, the little guy is still the bedrock of what makes Tennyson St. great. And we can't do this without your support.

Our community has been amazing since Day 1, and now we want to reward your support by building the best damn independent outdoor gear shop in Colorado. We live here, we eat here, we shop here. We are a truly hyper-local company, and this is your opportunity to support one of your own. We started here, and with your support we can make the Berkeley neighborhood our forever home.

The #1 risk is that our crowdfunding campaign falls short. In the event that happens we will explore traditional funding options. Our preference is to build this project in partnership with our community, but all options will always be explored to ensure FERAL's long-term success.
We have our contractors lined up and ready to go, our design is 95% complete, and we're ready to start swinging hammers. All we need is your support.

Not everyone can contribute financially, but EVERYONE can help! Here are a few very simple ways that you can give us a big assist.
-
Share on social media! There is a share button at the top of our campaign page. We can't tell you how much your share helps.
-
Word of mouth. Tell someone about us. Even if you hate us. As it turns out, the person you share with just might like us more than you do.

Support local in the Berkeley neighborhood. Every business on Tennyson St. is the manifestation of someone's dream to build something for this community. This neighborhood has a tremendous opportunity to be unique, and each local business is an important part of what makes it a beautifully uncommon place to live, work, and play.
