WHAT IS CEREBELLUM?
Cerebellum consists of exciting and varied live art events set within immersive micro exhibitions with free accompanying workshops for local London and South East communities, where possible, outside the confines of traditional White Cube spaces.
Cerebellum was formed by myself, Charlotte CHW in 2014 out of a perceived lack of truly “cutting edge” live art events around London and, then the South East, with a special focus on collaborative work. I also wanted to create an environment for networking between emerging and more established artists with the hope of fostering collaborations and knowledge and skill sharing. Finally, I wanted to encourage cross-fertilisation and not suspicion or competition between artists in London and the South East and give artists an opportunity to experience each others's work.
We aim to financially support work that amongst other qualities is: NEW, cross-disciplinary, innovative experimental, risk-taking process-based, original, overlooked, personal/ universal, socially engaged and participatory.
This year Cerebellum has 2 mini tours between London and the South East planned with around 40 emerging and established artists involved. These will take place in August and November 2016.

Cerebellum August & December 2016 Press Release
Cerebellum is an immersive micro-touring platform celebrating interdisciplinary, live, interactive and inclusive arts and collaboration. With an innovative and experimental spirit at its core Cerebellum enables artists from across Greater London and the South East to make and show work in two locations without incurring financial loss.
Cerebellum was relaunched in 2015 in a micro-touring format, networking emerging and established interdisciplinary artists between London and the South East.
Cerebellum was established by Multidisciplinary Artist, Curator and Facilitator Charlotte CHW in London in 2014 as a series of short one-off events. However, it has evolved and grown to not one, but two micro-touring platforms in August and November 2016, both taking place in Hastings and London, UK, encompassing live arts events, exhibitions and free workshops facilitated by artists taking part in the platform and open to all in the surrounding communities.
The live events at the beginning of the exhibition in each location act as the epicentre of the platform in which live, interactive, sound and digitial arts and film, installation, 1:1, durational work and more can be experienced within the wider context of the exhibition.

WHY DO WE NEED YOU HELP?
This campaign sadly comes as a result of being unsuccessful with Arts Council funding, though I, as an artist as well as curator myself, and many others believe that this platform does represent a genuine need for cross-fertilisation and opportunity for experimental artists at various stages in their career in the South East and London.
What this funding will allow is us to cover ALL artist, venue, technical support etc expenses and provide completely free workshops which we have failed to do completely in the past without funding. We also want to step Cerebellum up a gear with around 40 artists involved in total across individuals and collaborations.
We will completely understand if you cannot afford to help financially but if you can't please do consider helping us out by sharing this campaign with those who you think might be able to.
We have genuinely exciting perks available from just £5 (which is cheaper than what standard entry to the live events will cost nearer the time)
Whether Cerebellum has had a positive effect on you or the development of your work in the past or you are yet to attend
WHERE WILL YOUR MONEY GO?
Due to not getting funding (and realising that the amount needed to pay fees was an unrealistic target for a crowdfunding) artists, management and curation are now waiving payment unless unexpected extra profit is made so your funding will allow for what we consider essentials:
*Artist Expenses (travel, food, materials, equipment etc)
-Venue hire
-Equipment hire
-Web development for a site which will support and promote the continuing practice of all artists who have shown with us and become and archive
-Promotion (print costs etc)
Feel free to email us at Cerebellum_arts@gmx.com for more detail.
Remember, through the Indiegogo Cerebellum perks system you are not only essentially buying your ticket in advance: you are insuring we have the advance funds to make sure the event takes place and getting additional extras to boot!
We really hope you can support us,
Charlotte CHW
