My dad, Cesar Luna, is well known for being the "music man" and the life of the party for many. He has recently become diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, which is a very difficult form of leukemia to battle. The many doctors that have thrown him around, forcing my parents to pay thousands of dollars for lab results that determined nothing, put them further in debt. He had gone through difficult times in chemotherapy and months in the hospital without result nor seeing daylight. He has gone through so much and given so much of himself and now my parents face such financial burden. My dad, who has touched the lives of so many people through his music and his passion, does not deserve this. I am asking those of you with kind hearts to donate as much as you can to help my parents with my dad's medical bills.
We appreciate the generosity and support from the many friends, families, and friends of friends who have shown their support in these difficult times.
My dad has been passionate about music since he had been an altar boy and choir member in his youth. He had learned to appreciate and love music through his elders, inheriting their humor and their talent. Since then, he has captivated and entertained many people with his music. His passion grew and it became his life, he became the "muzikman" we know today.
Not only is my dad passionate about music, but he is a family man. When my cousins did not have fathers to be there for them or to guide and support them, my dad would step in. He did so with the passion in his heart which he had inherited from his kind and compassionate mother. "Uncle C" became a father figure to so many of my cousins; a kuya, or older brother, to many of his siblings and those not related; and an entertaining and festive companion to so many others who found a great and loving friend in him.
My parents have gone through so much recently, and the last thing on their minds is the growing financial burden. They are both so dedicated and focused on battling his leukemia, that they should not have to even worry about the financial situation that results from this difficult battle.
My dad, the humble man that he is, would have never approved of asking others for help; but, I will ask on their behalf. Their son, who can barely provide for himself in college, reaches out to you to help support a man who is the father figure, compadre, best friend, and Kuya to so many who love and adore him. Help me prove that he has so much support from his friends and family, let us show him that he isn't alone in this battle!
