What is this campaign about?

We Emojis so much that we made them audible in ChatFish® - our messaging app . We now want to create a new design for the standard set of Emojis. But we want to make it fun!

First, and foremost, the new set of Emojis will be free. We want everyone to be able to use it in their texts, apps, and designs, on T-shirts, kitchen sinks, and so on.

Second, as ChatFish has audible Emojis, the new Emojis will have a special sound of their own - different than the current sounds we offer.

And third, just for added fun, we want to produce a cool deck of cards, bearing the Emojis. These limited edition cards are designed especially for this Indiegogo campaign! Each card instance will bear a unique serial number (QR code) on its face. The serial number will be unique per card, and set.

Update: Scanning the QR code into ChatFish chat unique message editor will let you use the Emoji, and its unique sound in your messages.

Emojis explained

There is a standard set (alphabet) of over 800 Emojis, and more are being added all the time (like the racial Emoticons, and Vulcan salute).

There are roughly five big groups of Emojis:

1. People
2. Nature
3. Objects
4. Leisure, and holidays
5. Symbols and Misc.

We are going to design one poker set of the most used 54 People Emojis, and one of the most used 54 Nature Emojis. This campaign's goal is not to create a full set of Emojis, but a substantial part of it. Watch our stretch goals.

The new Emojis design (and font) will be licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution and Share-alike (BY-SA) license. In short: anyone can use it, and derive from it, even for commercial purposes. UPDATE:  as a feedback from this campaign we have decided to extract ChatFish's MultiMessage editor to a standalone message editor, that can be used with any other messaging app (such as WhatsApp, Facebook, etc.). We will announce this message editor after the campaign ends.

ChatFish is a unique messaging application. It has several features that make it standout from the crowd, Such as:

• Design the new Emojis.
• Design Two decks of 54 cards, based on the Emojis (108 unique cards).
• Print the cards, using a unique process that gives a unique serial number TO EACH card.
• Design and manufacture Two cardboard boxes - one for each deck.
  
• Produce unique ChatFish sounds for each new Emoji.
• Update ChatFish application to let users scan Emoji cards - and get their image & sound.
• UPDATE: Create the new, standalone MultiMessage editor, that will also let users scan Emoji cards - and get their image & sound.
  
• Shipping worldwide.

Risks

This is the first time we are producing cards. Our main concern is that the printing might take longer than we anticipated, because it depends on many factors we do not control, like: (timely) availability of materials, and QA. We will update you if delivery times change - hopefully for the better.

And we already found, tested, and signed an agreement with a very advanced printing shop that can create our unique cards (of high quality, and unique QR codes).

Stretch goals 

$115,000 - An extra set of Emojis + cards will be produced (for a total of 3 sets in the campaign). The Emoji group will be selected by a poll on our Facebook page.

$150,000 - Another extra set of Emojis + cards will be produced (for a total of 4 sets in the campaign). The Emoji group will be selected by a poll on our Facebook page.
