Clean Water for Peru
Who are We?
![]()
We are a team of professionals from different backgrounds. Silver Living Tech is a research business dedicated to researching nano-particles of silver colloidal in size. We have been working on setting things in place for this project for the last 3 years. Alexander (my dad) and I are both from Arequipa-Peru. We were born there, raised there, and have been working there helping make a difference in the lives of many by working with the Production Ministry of Peru and the Pyme Chamber.
Despite the economic growth Peru has been experiencing during the last 5 years, something as basic as pure potable water is not available to everyone.
So, Are You a Non-Profit or a For-Profit Business?
We are a for-profit business. Silver Living Tech is a research business dedicated to researching nano-particles of silver colloidal in size. All of our member have their own jobs or are retired, with the exception of Rene, who sold his restaurant in Peru when he moved back to the US to help establish the company there.
Do You Have Experience Doing This Kind Of Projects?
Yes, Peter Reynolds has chaired various projects funded by the National Science Foundation, development projects for WICAT Institute and the Waterford Institute. He also researched the nano-particles of silver colloidal in size back in 1991 with a fellow of the Graham Laboratories back when not much was understood about these nano-particles of silver.
Alexander Nunez has over 5 years of experience working with the Peruvian government through the Production Ministry and the PYME Chamber helping them implement their different programs aimed at helping people as well as businesses.
Rene Nunez has been working with the Production Ministry and the PYME Chamber since 2011 and is the International Operations Manager for Silver Living Tech SAC in Peru and the legal representative of the company in the US.
Erin Shea is the newest member who has been working with us almost for a year now. She has invaluable knowledge about humanitarian projects which will help us when we are in Peru.
Tell Us, What is The Problem You Have Again?
Peru's economy is growing rapidly, and together with this amazing economic growth there is also contamination and pollution. Our beautiful Chili river which once had trout and shrimp is now a soup of germs.
90 percent of the sewage water from Arequipa Peru (a city of a little over 1 million people) goes straight into the Chili river untreated. The contaminated waters are then used by the locals (who do not know any better and because the water already come as they like to say "fertilized") to irrigate their crops. These crops are sold at the markets and people become infected and sick.
Another problem we have is that many international markets (because of their safety concerns) are not importing our products, thus affecting the micro economies of the people. 30 percent of the people of Peru depend on agriculture as their main source of income.
So, What is Your Plan?
Our plan is to research the use of nanoparticles of silver colloidal in size in the water disinfection process of waste water purification.
How Do You Plan On Doing This?
We are going to bring Doctor Peter Reynolds and his son Engineer Ben Reynolds to Peru to help us research the use of our nanoparticles of silver in the waste water purification process. We will be working with the Catholic University of Santa Maria in Arequipa-Peru.

Why Not Use The Conventional Methods and Build a Water Treatment Plant With That Money?
The conventional waste water purification methods are too expensive for us in Peru, not to mention they are dangerous for the environment. A water treatment plant costs millions of dollars, what we are trying to do here is bring about a new technology to reduce the cost of waste water treatment and the impact it has in the environment. Also, the FINCyT program is designed to promote research, under their regulations they cannot use that money for anything else.

Conventional treatments include the use of Chlorine as the main disinfectant. The problem with Chlorine is that very large amounts are needed to disinfect the water (expensive), chlorine will destroy the flora (plant life) and fauna (animal life) of the ecosystem of the Chili river and the pampas of Arequipa-Peru, after the chlorination process a dechlorination process must be put in place before releasing the water back to the river (very expensive method).
Other disinfection methods are not strong enough because of the high levels of contamination the river has or will take too long before producing the desired outcome.

Our method is the best option available
Do Nano-Particles Of Silver Or Silver Ions Really Work?
Yes, they do. Some of you might have read about the germicidal properties of silver. Throughout history silver has been used for the same properties in many various ways. Nano materials such as silver nano-particles are not new but we have just began to understand the way they work in the last 20 years.

As it is mentioned silver ions have been utilized to some extent, our nanoparticles of silver are silver ions; a silver ion is just a charged particle of silver. please keep on reading to see why our method is the best option available.
The Peruvian government will give us 75 percent of the funds we need as long as we come up with the other 25 percent. (see below FINCyT Program for details)
What Did Peter Research About Nano-Particles Of Silver Colloidal in Size?
Doctor Peter Reynolds researched the Nanoparticles of silver colloidal in size back in 1991 and has a pretty good understanding of how they work.
In his research, Peter found that there are certain characteristics that make these nanoparticles of silver safe for both animals and plants; in fact, they have the ability to promote their health. Together with his son Ben who works as one of their top engineers for the US Air Force, perfected the method to manufacture these nanoparticles of silver colloidal in size, making the process very cost effective.

Why Do You Need 150K?
Doing research is not cheap the 150K is only our 25 percent of the deal, the Peruvian government will fund the other 75 percent as long as we come up with our 25 percent.
We are bringing Peter and Ben Reynolds to Peru for at least 3 - 4 months, we will have professional from Peru, from the Catholic University of Santa Maria working with us as well.
After Peter and Ben return to the US, we will continue our research and finally present our findings to the commission in charge of reviewing the results from the projects they fund.
We are also planning on continuing our efforts working with the Production Ministry and the PYME Chamber by educating micro, small and medium size businesses about the dangers of polluting the river waters, ways to implement responsible waste water disposal, and to help them as we have so far become more competitive in the international markets.
What Happens After You finish Your Research?
As we said earlier, we will continue our research and finally present our findings to the commission in charge of reviewing the results from the projects they fund. After that we will seek to implement the use of nano-particles of silver in the waste water disinfection and purification they do in Arequipa. If we are successful then we will take it to other parts of Peru and eventually the world.
So This Is What We Plan To Accomplish
- Research how to use the nanoparticles of silver to disinfect the waters of the Chili river while maintaining the ecosystem.
- Show the Peruvian government a new waste water purification method which is cost effective and which can be used all throughout Peru and maybe the world.
- Present plans to build new water treatment plants which will use our nanoparticles of silver for their disinfection needs.
- Take the new technology to other countries where it can help with their waste water treatment.
What is the Time Frame?
By the end of May the review commission will do a final review, this is where we present our 25 percent of the project. By the end of August we will go to Lima to sign all the necessary paperwork and agreements and we will begin preparations to receive the 75 percent of the funds by the end of the year. We will begin our research on the 1st of January.
If we can reduce the cost of waste water disinfection, help reduce the coliform levels of the Chili river to a normal range, and eliminate the ecosystem safety concerns of using chlorine, then we can make a difference. We believe we can with our method.
We Need You
We cannot make this happen alone. We have been doing what we can to make a difference but now we need you. With your help we can revolutionize the way we treat water, we can provide clean water for thousands maybe even millions.
Your contributions will not go to waste. Please help us raise the money we came here to raise. We need to come up with 25 percent of the money needed to do our research, then the Peruvian government will give us the other 75 percent through the FINCyT Program.
The FINCyT Program
On July 19th 2006, the Peruvian government signed an agreement with the Inter-American Development Bank giving birth to the Science and Technology Program of Peru.
The FINCyT Program is designed to fund technological research projects of businesses, universities and research centers.
How Else Can You Help Us
If you cannot make a donation don't worry, you can still help us make a difference. Please let 10 of your friends know about our project and the impact it will have not only in Peru but in many other countries throughout the world.
The more we raise the more money we will receive from the Peruvian government to research our technology and help make a difference in the lives of millions.
In Silver Living Tech we believe people should play an active role in developing policies and programs that affect their health and lives.
Please help us spread the word.
What Do I Get For Supporting Your Research?
you will be supporting a technology for waste water treatment that has the potential to change the way we do waste water treatment. As we mentioned earlier, the conventional methods are either costly or dangerous for the environment and people or both. We can bring clean water without side effects to the world.
For helping us reach our goal we have prepared a few perks for you which will help the local economies of where we are at:
- We have a handmade all natural soap with nanoparticles of silver.
- We have baby alpaca wool sweaters like the one in the picture which are handmade by the indigenous communities of the andes of Peru, you get a beautiful, comfortable sweater and we get to contribute their local economy.
- We have hand crafted gifts of various kinds which you will get with your contributions so you can always remember us and how you helped us.
- And last, we have our nanoparticles of silver which you can keep for your emergency water purification kits or for other disinfecting uses you might have.
You will always know that you helped us change the lives of many by helping us help ourselves.
Thank You! ¡Gracias!
