PROJECT CLEAN-UP CENTRALIA, PA
Overview:
Centralia Pennsylvania needs a lot of help. It's borough is nothing more than a vast wasteland of empty streets and now sadly, a lot of trash. Hidden away off of the vacant streets, Centralia is nothing more than a dumping ground. But, with the help and support of EPCAMR (Eastern PA Coalition for Abandon Mine Reclamation), PEC NE Office, Bridgestone Tires, The Commonwealth of PA and a few other supporters, we're going out to clean up and dispose all of the trash and waste that strews along the town. But we still need more help! With this funding through Indiegogo, more donations will go to the volunteers for food and water during the clean-up throughout the day plus will offset the costs for dumpsters, shovels, and rakes.
Your donation will provide these essential items for the clean-up process. The funds go directly to EPCAMR and a receipt can be provided from EPCAMR for your donation. You can donate funds, supplies, or your time, or all three!! We need extra shovels, rakes, trash bags and volunteers for the clean-up crew and food or water will be accepted as well!
After filming a short documentary on Centralia and now in the process of making the feature length documentary on the history of the town, my crew and I shot all through the town and realized just how much garbage there is in the pockets of the town hidden away. As a result, I decided to contact Robert Hughes of EPCAMR and together we're contributing our time and gathering funding and donations towards a great cause with the help of other donations as well from The Commonwealth, ARIPPA, Bridgestone Tires, and the DEP.
This is an environmental cause to not only keep Centralia clean and beautiful, but PA beautiful as well. Today, the town now consists of three families from a town that was wiped out from hundreds of residents due to a disaster underground fifty years ago and government neglect. On October 25th we will make a difference and clean-up Centralia, PA. So please help out with a donation or join us in the effort!
