Our upcoming short film, CORNERED, highlights the desperate need for smarter gun laws in the US. 

Based on a true story, CORNERED follows Bernice Bowen, whose partner, Hank Earl Carr, went on a violent killing spree in 1998. Carr killed three police officers and Bowen’s three-year-old son with guns he was easily able to obtain, despite his extensive criminal record. He ended the rampage by taking his own life. Bowen was arrested and sentenced to 21 years in jail as an accomplice to the horrific crime, for failing to inform officers that Carr was a convicted felon. 

We've partnered with the International Action Network on Small Arms, Stop Handgun Violence, and the Newtown Action Alliance to make CORNERED a reality. 

We plan to shoot our film in October 2015, but we need your support to make it happen. With your help, we can bring this vital message to audiences around the world.

Monetary Donations

We are looking to raise $50,000 for CORNERED. The process of quality filmmaking often incurs higher production costs, and our goal is to communicate this story as vividly and authentically as possible. The funds raised for CORNERED will be used entirely for the production, completion and distribution of the film. This includes:  

• Equipment rental costs and shooting locations. A portion of the finances raised for CORNERED will be used to cover equipment rental costs incurred from securing the camera, lights, audio equipment and more. We plan to shoot CORNERED digitally, on a high-definition camera with professional lenses to ensure a high level of quality and detail in our footage.  We will also be acquiring permits and scouting for various shooting locations. It is our hope that every element of production will help elevate the quality of CORNERED and immerse the audience in the world of the film. We emphatically believe in the talent of our crew to accomplish that task. Therefore, it is important for them to have access to quality equipment throughout the production.
• Distribution. After the completion of the film, we intend to submit CORNERED to festivals around the world, and hold joint screenings with our nonprofit partners.
• Post production. Editing, color correction, sound, musical score... there's a lot of work to be done in the editing booth after our final day of shooting! We want to make sure CORNERED looks and sounds polished before we premiere it on the big screen.
• Provide food and hire actors and crew members. We would like to provide fair wages for our working actors and crew members, who will be lending their talents and skills to the project. Whether in front of the camera or behind the scenes, each person working on CORNERED plays a valuable role in the completion of the film.  We want the set of CORNERED to be a comfortable working environment for our talent, and this includes ensuring that they are fed well and compensated for their work.


Filmmaking is expensive, but we believe a story like CORNERED deserves to be told. This is a big goal, and we know we can achieve it with the help of Indiegogo's passionate donors.

Cameron Barsanti - Hank Carr
Cameron has been featured on SCANDAL and TRUE BLOOD, as well as starred in  films such as BE, WET CIGARETTES and THE NEMESIS BIRD. He recently starred in  Sixth Sense's short film BLUE ON BLUE. 

Erin Way - Bernice Bowen
Erin is best known for her roles in THE COLLECTION, DUSTLAND and DOONBY. She has also appeared in GREY'S ANATOMY and AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.

Richard Harding - Director, Producer
Richard is a passionate film Producer who was involved in HOTEL RWANDA and produced THE FIRST GRADER. He produced and directed the short film BLUE ON BLUE. Richard is also the founder of the nonprofit organization End Malaria Now, which donates thousands of mosquito nets annually to Africa to prevent the spread of malaria.

Denise Tran - Co-Writer, Producer
Denise worked as an Associate producer on THE FIRST GRADER and was instrumental in bringing it to audiences around the world. She also wrote and produced the short film BLUE ON BLUE. Denise also serves as Co-Founder and CFO of End Malaria Now.

Chris King - Co-Writer
Chris is an award-winning writer and director of films such as BIRTHDAY and THE KILLING OF MARY SURRATT, among others. 

Lars Lindstrom - Cinematographer
Lars has an MFA in Cinematography from the Art Center College of Design. Check out some of his breathtaking work here: 

Greg Mazzola - Line Producer
Greg worked with Sixth Sense on BLUE ON BLUE. He has also worked on other films such as A QUIET KIND OF LOVE and UNDER THE ELECTRIC SKY

Kevin Doucette - Composer
Kevin is an experienced film score composer who has worked on acclaimed films like MILLION DOLLAR ARM and THE HUNDRED-FOOT JOURNEY. Kevin also composed the score for BLUE ON BLUE. 

Vicente Perez - Editor
Vicente worked with Sixth Sense on BLUE ON BLUE. His previous credits include CAMBIO DE SENTIDO, HADA, and JET-LAG. 

Greenhouse Post - Sound
Our sound will be done at Greenhouse Post, who recently worked on BLUE ON BLUE. Previous credits include THE SHIELD, BEER LEAGUE, and THE ROOKIE.
