About Create or Die
Create or Die was started in 2009 by Artistic Director Deb Morgan and has grown organically into an organisation that has supported, developed and championed hundreds of artists and creative practitioners.
We do this through our dedication to providing a safe, open, inclusive and expressive platform and space for artists of all disciplines. And to continue - we need your help!

Why do we need your help?
Sydney is the second most expensive city in the world.
We don't have the answers to the housing crisis, the increased electricity prices, our terrible public transport system or our out of touch leadership; but we do have an answer to the disillusionment felt by the everyday person just trying to survive. Art.
Art, like dreams, has the ability to take you to the far reaches of the universe, to heal your pain and speak your innermost thoughts, feelings and ideas. We all have unique stories that can only be
realised through the arts and the artists who create ways for us to feel human again.
The price of running an art space such as ours continues to increase as costs in the inner west and Sydney skyrocket!
Yet, the price for not running our space is the soul of the city.
We need your help to continue providing affordable space to artists, to upgrade our facility and offer a more diverse program of classes and development programs to the community.

What you'll help us achieve!
The community and those who have built Marrickville as Sydney's real arts precinct have become concerned with all the development happening in the area and the effect it will have on our practice.
We have felt the pressure first-hand from the push to gentrify the area, but mostly the lack of understanding from the powers at be, surrounding what artists need practically to keep their art-forms alive and thriving.
Create or Die need contributions from this crowd-funding campaign to continue to support artists through our one of a kind creative space, arts representation, innovative programs and to continue to bridge the gap between the developers and the creatives on the ground.
You can help keep the heart and soul of Marrickville by being a part of this project and helping Create or Die remain a creative developmental space that is an accessible resource for all Sydney’s artists.
What do we need? And what will you get in return?
From this campaign, we are hoping to raise $30,000 to help fund our arts program and upgrade our arts centre, which opens doors to artists of all disciplines.
By being a part of this campaign, you will not only be keeping the arts alive in Sydney, but also become a part of a community!
Plus... there are some pretty amazing rewards that our artists and creators have donated to those who support our campaign!
In return for your generous support, our amazing artists & creative community have come together to offer up their professional services, art and time for you!
