Our Story
Hi, I'm Perrie Wilkof. I was born in L.A., raised in Brooklyn, lived in Italy, bummed around Europe, and went to school in Western Massachusetts. What all of these places have in common is they each intensified and informed my obsession with food and all things culinary. After graduating college, I moved back to NYC and decided to turn my passion for baking into a career. I pursued classical training in the art of French Pastry at the French Culinary Institute but quickly realized that the classic American dessert, pie, was where my heart lived. Even before graduating, I began working at the acclaimed Pies N' Thighs, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, where I really honed my skills and began to dream of opening my own bakery cafe. Two years ago I moved to wonderful Columbus, Ohio, where I started Dough Mama's Kitchen, baking pies, both sweet and savory, cookies and quiches, for Columbus eateries, including Skillet, Flatiron Bar & Diner, Yellow Brick Pizza, Kraft House No. 5, & Mission Coffee, and selling our goods at the Clintonville Community Market, & Columbus Flea! Now it's time to open my own spot, Dough Mama, so Columbus can have access to our pastry every day of the week and can find it all in one place! But Dough Mama is not only a bakery, it is a cafe, where customers can get breakfast, brunch, & lunch, and pie and pastry to take home. We'll serve coffee sourced from a local roaster, sandwiches, salads, granola, eggs, biscuits, quiche, and a large array of sweets and delectable pies! Everything will be made in-house from scratch, highlighting local and seasonal ingredients, creating irresistable new flavor combinations, as well as yummy twists on old favorites. We absolutely cannot wait to open our doors and lay the table for Clintonville and the Columbus community as a whole!

What We Need & Why
We are currently in the process of turning a former hair salon into a commercial kitchen, bakery, cafe and gathering space. This is no small feat but we've managed to raise enough funds to do the buildout and open the doors. We'll even have a little left over to help get through the start-up phase, but as we all know, a new restaurant business takes a while to get its footing. With your generous support, an additional $15,000.00 will enable us to work out the kinks until we can operate at peak performance. Yes, with your help, we will not only be able to open Dough Mama, we will be able to keep it rolling!

We are so excited to share our vision of food and community with the people of Columbus. We are ready to work the crazy hours, challenge our culinary assumptions, collaborate with neighboring farmers and artisans, and satisfy the appetites of all who walk through our door. The abounding support we have already received has been wind in our sails! Now, your help will mean the world to us and guarantee that Dough Mama will keep serving up its unique brand of pleasure for years to come! Thank you!
