elementary OS Is Made by Volunteers from Around the Globe
We’re putting on a 4 Day Hackathon in Paris for our volunteer developers in Europe to kickstart development on the next release of elementary OS. We’ll tackle things like release planning, smashing Bugs and working on new features. We want to keep this event free of outside influences and corporate sponsorships, so we need your help to make it happen.
What You’re Paying For
Shuffling People around the globe is expensive, so we’re starting small and are doing this event in Europe where most of our volunteers live. We’ve rented out an Apartment for 5 people in Paris, France. We’ll need to cover the cost of that rental, travel expenses for our developers, meals for them each day, IndieGoGo’s fees, and hopefully a little extra to take everyone out for a round of drinks afterwards.

The Impact
By helping us with funding for this event, you can leave your mark on elementary by allowing us to keep the constant improvements going. We'll be working on the following and more:
Risks & Challenges
If we don't reach our full goal, the amount raised will still go towards the event. We’ve already booked our travel and rented the location, so the event is on, though we might not be able to compensate our volunteer developers for their travel costs, and there definitely won't be free beer afterwards.
Other Ways You Can Help
As always, there are a lot of ways elementary can benefit from your help, be it translations, detailed Bug reports or code contributions, check out
