Who I am

My name is John Myers Kelley. But everyone calls me Jack. I'm an animator. I've been animating personally for 2 or 3 years, I think. And I've been drawing ever since I was, 4, maybe. I live in Houston, Texas and have lived there all my life. I am 23 years old, and I would very much like to make something of myself. Like most people, I don't want to be stuck in a dead end job going nowhere. I want to go places. See the world. Creat things. This is what I want to do. It's what I've always wanted to do.

"Eraser" Head is a project that has been on my mind ever since I doodled him in 2005. I never had any stories to put him in, until now. I have a 20 page script that I plan on turning into an internet series. It will be filmed on a regular DV camcorder, and hand-traced frame-by-frame on regular 8.5 x 11 sheets of office paper in an animation process called "rotoscoping" It is laborious and very time consuming. Because of this, it will take a long period of time before it's finished, especially since I'm doing all of this by hand, and by myself.

But this is important to me. And I would love to see it happen. It would mean a lot to me if you would make it happen for me as well.

What you will get out of it

I need $1,300 to make a rough estimate. Every bit of it will go to the production of the film. Green screen. Lights. Actors. Voice recording equiment. Paper. Lots and lots of paper. 

There will be several perks in it for you if you help. Production materials, for example. I don't know what I'm gonna do with all of that paper after I'm finished with it, after all. I can't use it again. Where am I gonna put it? The Recycle Bin? No. I'm gonna give every bit of it to you. Photographs. Drawings. Concept art. You'll get it all. If you help.

If I don't get this, I won't get any funding. Without funding, I have no film. And you get nothing after all of the hard earned cash you put in. That would suck. I won't allow that to happen.

What you are doing for me

This project is important to me. It has been on my mind for a long time, and I really would like to see it happen. If you do this for me, you'll be supporting not only me, but the independent art scene as a whole. Free from the meddling chains of the system. True art. The way it's meant to be seen.

If this happens, you have my word, you will not go home empty handed. You WILL get what you paid for, and then some. I promise.

If you don't have any money you can give me, that's perfectly fine. You can tell someone who does have money. Then they will tell other people who have money. The word will get round, and people will know. And it will all be thanks to you.
