We're into our final week and here's where things stand:
We've had our first screening of the film, and it was a huge success, with a packed house. But there is more to be done, and we need your help! Some of the money has already been spent on the following areas:
Screening: $1K
Live Music Recording & Studio Costs: $2.5K
ADR Studio Costs: $1K
Expenses Coming Up (but already covered):
Festival Circuit: $2K
DVDs, Screeners and Deliverables: $2K
The donation so far are invaluable, without which we'd not be able to create a great product, and with our extensive festival run, we'll have a strong press kit to take the film to market. And that is the target, going to either Cannes (May 2013) or The American Film Market (Nov 2013). And this can cost $5K or more... so come on folks, give generously to a great product.
- What YOU get for a donation?
The perks are good, really good. There's the usual array of DVDs, posters, and downloads. But there's more. Do you need a showreel shot? Maybe a Tropfest film? Music video perhaps? Invest in Final Move, and you get gear at very cheap rates, and our expertise with it. If you can help us, we can help you :)
- What makes this project different?
Many projects are looking for funds and sometimes there is no guarantee of a finished product. Things happen, making a film is just really hard. "Final Move" is different because it has already been shot and edited so you know what you'll get for your donations.
- Our goals and why we need your help?
No matter how good a film is, and we believe this is a good one, finding distribution is hard. It requires screenings at well regarded festivals, producers being able to go to the festivals to market it, meetings, DVD screeners and key art. All these take time and money. We will put in the time to make your donations count.
Mastering sound and vision to cinematic standards.
DVD screeners – both for cast & crew, festivals & distributors.
Film Festivals – We’re aiming for festivals both big and small, international and here at home. And if we can get one of our producers to a festival, it's a great chance to meet the distributors and raise the profile of the film.
Deliverables – All the different things distributors need: from insurances & ratings, to master copies of the film.
We have the traditional perks, from signed DVDs, posters, seats at the premiere to credits on IMDB. But there's a great set of perks for the higher contributors. For those in Sydney - production services. For the international donations - script consultations and vision editing.

While we may not have the big names that come with the big budgets, we had big talent, a cast who threw everything they could into the project. Their work deserves to be seen.

The Production Team:
Writer/Director/Producer JD Cohen and Cinematographer Christopher J McHardy have produced saleable, award winning and festival screened projects for the past 7 years. From the short film "Wrong Answer" (20+ festival screenings, 4 awards), to their horror feature, "The 7th Hunt", (out on DVD in the UK and the US), to their most recent short comedy "The Game" (9 screenings, 6 award nominations), they have consistently produced work that attracts audiences. "Final Move" is their latest project.
