Fund for Taylor's Recovery
On March 14th 2015, Taylor was preparing her body for a night of rigorous work. She dances, does yoga, models and is an artist. Sometimes, all three of these can coincide with each other depending on the project or job. Because of the physicality of all of Taylor's freelance work, she is constantly pushing herself to be better. Unfortunately, the industry that Taylor is in has some of the highest injury and even death rates in the world. While pushing herself up into a supported headstand, Taylor's body was completely inverted (upside down). This is something she had done a million times, except this time, she was being photographed/filmed. All of a sudden Taylor felt something was not right and she began yelling for help and her body collapsed to the floor. Her body, from the adrenaline of pain, fell in a way that caused all of her body weight to come down onto her neck, twisting it to the left.
Her photographer immediately called 911 where she was taken to the Fairfield County Hospital and strapped down unable to move. Taylor has anxiety disorder and PTSD and began crying and hyperventilating from being unable to move, and not knowing if any part of her had become paralyzed. After Xrays, CAT scans, and Intravenously injecting Taylor with Ativan, a benzo that targets the central nervous system, she was able to be unstrapped. But not before her photographer took a picture of her in pain. Already thinking ahead, Her photographer knew this should be documented. After hours in the hospital, the doctors told Taylor that parts of her neck had been dislocated and that she would need physical therapy and possibly even surgery to repair. The doctors put Taylor on bed rest and sent her home in a neck brace and a spine supporting wrap. Because of the accident, she had to drop her college class that she was 4 days from completing, ultimately putting her at risk to lose her financial aid. She also now has no way of doing any physical work to make money for the most basic of needs such as rent, bills, food, and taking care of her three year old daughter. Her photographer posted the picture of Taylor in the hospital with the caption "Pray for me" and almost instantly Taylor received death threats telling her she deserved to die because she is a feminist and also an LGBT person. Taylor's online friends and fans would not take this lying down and began a fund for her recovery. They set it at $2,000 but realistically, Taylor is looking at BEYOND $10,000 in medical bills alone.
While she recovers, her friends, family, and online community are asking for people to come together to help raise money and support Taylor through this incredibly hard time.
Updates to this page will be made every few days to keep you in the loop. If we are unable to reach the full amount in two weeks I'll restart the page until Taylor is able to get back to work. We are asking for whatever you can spare to help her recover, pay for medication, food, and other bills. $10, $20, $30, whatever you can spare. Please share this funding page with your family and friends. Let's come together and support her because she really needs it!
You can also donate to taylor through snapcash and it will go directly into her bank account. Her snapchat username is: taylorirezumi
Thank you!
