Will the guitar work with Android and other devices?
The Fusion Guitar is designed to only work with iOS at this stage. We have focused on iOS because the best guitar apps have been designed specifically for this platform. Guitar apps have only recently been produced which work on Android and many of the best apps are still unavailable on that platform. As more apps become available on Android we look forward to developing instruments for that platform.
I didn't pay for shipping...
Don’t worry we will email you regarding the shipping payment later in the campaign. This will not delay you getting guitar in any way.
Do you have a Bass Guitar?
We are considering the idea of designing a bass in the future. It would be pretty awesome.
How do I receive $200 off?
You need to refer people to the campaign, if these referrals result in a sale using your unique URL, then you will get $50 per referral refunded to you at the end of the campaign.
What about the delivery time?
We want to be honest to backers about the time it takes to setup and produce the guitars so this is an accurate estimate. We have been designing and managing the production of products for over 20 years and we know what’s involved.
We don’t envisage any major delays but backers will be notified immediately if there are any, our backers are part of the team and we’ll keep you up to date with progress as we go.
I don’t have an iPhone what’s my cheapest option to get up and running with a Fusion Guitar?
Your cheapest option is to get an iPod Touch Gen 5 these are available new for around US$160 and much less than that used on eBay.
Which devices are currently compatible with the Fusion Guitar?
The Fusion Guitar is compatible with iPhone 6, 6S, 6+, 5, 5S, and iPod Touch Gen 5.
We have now also designed the Fusion Guitar to work with the 6 and 6S Plus!
What about us left handers?
This model has only been designed for right handed players at this stage. But stay tuned, we hope to produce a left handed version in the future!
Are there other guitars like this available?
As far as we are aware this is the first of its kind, there is no other instrument currently on the market which has iPhone integration plus a built in amp, speakers and battery power pack.
How do I choose my color?
We will show you how you can choose your color after the campaign.
Does the Fusion Guitar have a Warranty?
Yes, the Fusion Guitar will come with a minimum of 1 years warranty against defects in workmanship and materials. Fusion Guitars warrants that the product will be replaced or repaired if defects have occurred in the product during this period. This warranty will not affect the consumer rights of individual countries.
Who is the Fusion Guitar designed for?
The Fusion Guitar is an ideal instrument for everyone from a complete beginner to a professional player. If this is your first guitar and you’re starting to learn it is everything you need in one product plus the on-line and app based tuition built into the guitar makes learning fast and fun. It’s also great as an everyday guitar for the hobbyist who wants improved convenience; no cables, no clutter, can be played anywhere and again great for learning. For the professional the advantages are an electric guitar which can capture inspiration whenever it strikes and which can accompany you wherever you go; warming up backstage, on the tour bus, in the hotel.
Is the Fusion Guitar future proofed against new iPhone designs?
Yes, the Fusion Guitar’s interchangeable docks allows it to be compatible with future iPhone models. We will release new docks to suit iPhone 7 and iPod Touch Gen6, Gen7 etc. shortly after the devices are launched. The iPhone 6S is not anticipated to include external changes to its design, if the 6S has external changes we will incorporate those into the iPhone 6/6S dock which will be delivered with your guitar. The earliest anticipated new dock designs will be available in late 2016/2017 when Apple releases the iPhone 7 and iPod Touch Gen 6. The lightning connector on the guitar can also be easily removed and replaced if the connector becomes damaged or if future iPhones have a different type of connector.
Do the effects pedals and amps on the guitar apps sound authentic?
They sound incredible, we have built this guitar because they sound so good. There are YouTube videos of people comparing the sounds produced by the apps to the sounds of the actual hardware amps and effects and it's’ almost impossible to tell the difference. Will a guitar with a polymer composite body sound any good?
The Fusion Guitar sounds awesome. The maple neck extends through the body and the bridge is attached to this neck/body extension, this give the instrument the exact tone of a traditional electric guitar. This method of construction also give the guitar great sustain, even better than a fixed neck or bolt on neck guitar. Additionally we have not compromised on the pickups, which are responsible for generating a large portion of the guitar’s tone. Which apps work with the Fusion Guitar?
Almost all currently available apps will work with the Fusion Guitar including any app that works with a guitar interface like the Jamup Plug, iRig, Apogee Jam etc.
Any guitar app multi-effects processors with amp & FX modeling will work; JamUp, Bias, Amplitube, Ampkit, ToneStack etc.
All tuition apps; Yousician, Guitar Pro, Guitar Master Class, GuitarToolkit, Jammit etc.
Recording and song creation apps; GarageBand, Studiomini etc.
How much do the Apps cost? Are any provided with the guitar?
There are no apps supplied with the guitar, there are so many awesome apps already available that we decided not to develop our own but to concentrate our efforts on the guitar. Guitar apps are easily downloaded onto your iPhone/iPod from the Apple App Store and many are free including lite versions of the top multi-effects and amp modeling apps like Jamup. It costs very little to get started, there are some apps from as little as 99 cents up to around $65 for full access packs of high end guitar multi-effects processors with amp & FX modelling and full recording capabilities.
How are the Apps used if you don’t have a Fusion Guitar?
A traditional electric guitar can connect to an iPhone via a guitar interface (a hardware device) with cables. You will also need either headphones or powered speakers again connected with cables. Guitar apps are incredibly powerful and fun to use, but it’s an awkward set up - you have cables everywhere and you have to balance the phone on your knee or a coffee table. The Fusion Guitar allows the whole setup to be portable and without any cables.
How secure is the phone in the guitar dock?
The iPhone is well protected in the dock, the dock material has been selected so that it will not scratch or damage the phone. The dock has been carefully designed and tested so the iPhone is securely held, it will not fall out even if the guitar is held upside down and shaken.
Can the guitar work with a normal guitar amp?
Absolutely! The direct line out will allow you to plug into a regular guitar amp and enjoy the awesome tone of the Fusion Guitar using the on-board effects. Alternatively the guitar has a normal ¼” guitar jack socket allowing you to use it as traditional electric guitar without any iPhone processing.
Can the guitar work without an iPhone docked?
Yes, without the iPhone docked the guitar has a direct connection from the pickup volume control to the amp giving a beautiful clean sound similar to the clean channel on a traditional guitar amp.
How is the guitar powered?
The Fusion Guitar has a built-in high capacity 11.1V lithium-ion battery pack. The guitar will ship with a fast charger so you can get playing again quickly if the batteries run out.
How loud is the guitar?
It’s loud! 93 decibels at 1 meter at full volume. This is several times the perceived volume of the average acoustic guitar.
How much playing time will the guitar have between charges?
This is dependent on the volume the guitar is being played at; at low volume in your bedroom for example you can over 20 hours of use, at medium volume maybe sitting on the beach it will last for around 12 hours and at very high volume possibly busking on a noisy street the batteries will last 4 to 6 hours.
Can an incoming message or phone call interrupt me while I'm playing?
The iPhone is fully functional even when docked in the guitar, this means that phone calls can come in and will ring through the speakers. It’s easy to avoid getting a phone call while performing simply by setting your iPhone to Do No Disturb or Airplane Mode.
Can I change or cancel my perk?
Indigogo policy dictates that campaign owners have no ability to adjust perk selections. That means we cannot upgrade your perk, we cannot change your perk and we cannot cancel your perk. Please note that contributions made on Indigogo are also non-refundable.
