FUU is the Bosnian acronym for
Festival Ulične Umjetnosti meaning
Street Art Festival. FUU is an open air street art festival in Sarajevo whose stages and performances will be held throughout the city, on locations both popular and forgotten. A unique event that directly engages the audience – in parks, streets, neighborhoods and avenues – with the goal of breathing in the spirit of culture and art in these areas.
The festival is a gift to Sarajevo and all of its citizens, regardless of their age, gender, social status or cultural background. It is art delivered to directly to streets, parks and in front of hallway doors.
During the festival the festival there will be performances and exhibitions that will transform many parts of the city and leave a permanent mark on them, making them more interesting and beautiful. FUU will with each year give Sarajevo wonderful works of art that will stay there for good, and enrich the cultural and artistic landscape of the city.
This festival is for everyone and every performance, exhibition,
play or event related to the festival is absolutely free of charge.

Throughout the course of history Sarajevo has always been an intersection of different cultures and arts - a place where the East and West blend into each other. After years of conflict, the city is emerging from the ashes and is set to bring back the old glory that it was once known for.
However, we can't do this with the help of the government, as they continually fail to see the potential of art and culture and have cut funding to the most basic institutions like Museums (Yes, The National Museum is closed in Sarajevo due to a lack of government funding).
This does not discourage us. It only reminds us that at this moment it is important more than ever to launch this festival and raise awareness of the importance of art and culture and bring it back to the city we love - We owe it to Sarajevo.

At this point you may ask yourself, why do we need support if we already have confirmed artists visiting and have developed a festival program.
The answer is simple and obvious: It costs.
While we have been able to get some support from private organizations, art lovers, media and volunteers in Sarajevo, however this will only be enough to cover the bare basics of making only a few events in three days.
As the goal of FUU is to involve as many artists as possible and truly make an impact on the city and establish a tradition of hosting FUU each year, we will need additional support.
WE need YOU!
If we can reach our goal of raising €25000 we can make FUU a complete three day experience and involve as many artists and locations in Sarajevo as possible and set the foundations of creating a festival that will get stronger every year.
Together, we could put art back into the spotlight!
Here is a short breakdown of what additional activities and events we can make (along with covering the costs of our current ones) with amount of money we will raise:

- FUU video log and documentary. We will be able to record the performances and exhibitions and make a short documentary film about the festival, the artists and the people behind them.
- Cover the costs for performing the play "Alice in Wonderland" created by the students of the three Art Academies in Sarajevo (Performing Arts, Music and Fine Arts), in the botanical gardens of the closed National Museum.
- Create bloc parties in two Sarajevo municipalities (Novi Grad and Novo Sarajevo) featuring graffiti artists, DJ's and the students from the Music Academy of Sarajevo.
Everything from above +
- Project: Camera Obscura on the streets by artist Dženat Dreković. - Take photos of people passing by the streets of Sarajevo and the participants/artists of the festival and print out these photographs to be put on exhibition on the closing of the festival.
- Creating graffiti murals on three more different locations in Sarajevo by local graffiti artists.
- 3D video mapping performance by Miško Nećak on one of the landmark Sarajevo buildings (History Museum or Ars Aevi)
- Uncovering the life-sized sculpture of Everyman, by artist Lejla Čehajić, which will permanently stay in Sarajevo.

By reaching our goal of €25000 we could make all of the above happen plus we would have the opportunity to create a contest among among young Architects and Designers to submit projects that would contribute to the partial revival of ruined and neglected locations in Sarajevo. Their creative solutions would make Sarajevo a more beautiful place and at the same time empower and encourage youth to step out with their own ideas and projects and most importantly leave their permanent mark on the city together with FUU.
Additional funds would go to making the selected project happen and prepare the same process for next year's FUU.
All of the funds are going directly to making this festival happen for Sarajevo and its citizens.

Funding FUU will get you many different perks. Here are some of them:

We are able to ship the perks (apart from a few available worldwide) to the US, Europe, Canada and Australia. Most of the perks will be shipped after the festival. Click on them for more detail.

FUU is every man and woman who loves art and believes it should be out there for everyone. The idea of the festival first initiated by renowned Sarajevan director Aleš Kurt who is the heart of the FUU.
After Aleš presented his idea to us, we started working tirelessly on making FUU happen. We are:
