Give Us Paws is a Houston-based nonprofit providing free, in-home training of service animals for disabled veterans, especially with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)/emotional disabilities.
- We help disabled veterans, adults, and children - but veterans our are priority.
- We help improve the quality of life for veterans suffering from PTSD, diabetes and limited mobility issues.
- Thousands of returning veterans suffering from PTSD having issues adjusting to normal life. The VA has cut all funding for service animals for veterans.

Give Us Paws was founded by veteran, Paul Buescher, when he realized there weren't many options available to disabled veterans needing access to trained service dogs. Most service dog training companies are very expensive and out of reach for the average veteran suffering from mental illness, and even if you can afford the fees there are waiting lists that last years! Paul was unable to locate a company to help him find a service dog for his father, so he decided to found an organization to help veterans in need. And so Give us Paws was born...
Since then we've helped been focused on creating positive changes in veteran's lives. We've helped 10 veteran/dog teams get trained and on their way to happier, healthier lives! With this campaign we'd like to expand the number of veterans we can help - by raising money to fund their training and supplies.
We offer this training to veterans for FREE, but the trainers, materials, and organizational administration costs us money. Each veteran/dog team we train costs us about $5000!
What We Need & What You Get
- Each team we train costs us about $5000, so if we reach our goal we can train 10 more teams of veterans and their service dogs!
- We're offering fun perks for supporters including Give Us Paws swag and dog-lover treats for people and their canine friends!
- If we don't reach our goal, we'll use any money donated to support our continued work. If we exceed our goal, we can help even more veterans have better lives!
