Who are we?
Independence Live is a Scottish pro independence group that started livestreaming in November 2013 from the Glad Cafe in Glasgow. We are now an established part of the new Scottish media network that emerged during #IndyRef.
We operate as a grassroots collective currently with a main group in Glasgow and Edinburgh. Our two main aims include bringing alternative news and information to people that the main stream media will not or cannot cover through livestreaming, videos, podcasts & blogs; and educating individuals & groups on livestreaming.
We are further developing our on going relationships with the new Scottish media like Bella Caledonia, CommonSpace and Kiltr to help them make the most of livestreaming with the aim of increasing the amount of people viewing their sites and to get the livestreaming we cover to reach a wider audience. In addition we are also working with groups like the National Yes Registry, Yes 2, All Under One Banner, Yes Orkney, Scot2.scot, We are the 45%, Mums for Scottish Independence, Yes Scotland's Future, Veterans for Independence 2.0, Indy 2 and many more to help spread livestreaming and the events we livestream. If you are an admin on a Yes supporting Facebook page or group, please contact us.
NEW GLASGOW OFFICE! Since January of this year we have very kindly had a donation of office and studio space in Glasgow that we can now use for meetings with other groups and individuals, training and livestreaming. So far we have done 3 livestreams from the office that also has a small space for an audience. From the office we had Ken McDonald from the brilliant iScot Magazine interview director Alan Knight and livestreamed his documentary "London Calling"; interviewed Simon Malzer from Inform Scotland on their BBC Bias poster campaign and Paul Kavanagh (Wee Ginger Dug).
You will also find us listed under Glasgow and Edinburgh in the new updated Indy App from the National Yes Registry that will be available soon - PLEASE DOWNLOAD THIS!
What we want?
- Help to keep our one fulltime member of Independence Live.
- Premium Account renewal from Livestreams ($2,388.00). We can now "Simulcast" which means livestreaming to mulitiple destinations like Livestream.com, Facebook, YouTube etc.
Crowdfunders have helped Independence Live through indyref1, afterwards and in the years leading to indyref2 is based on the minimum funding model of a small salary for one person. This has delivered our continuity and the growing collaborative influence on the rest of new scottish media.
