Short Summary
My name is Derek Graziano. I have a revolutionary vision, which I am already implementing, of upgrading and transforming existing instruments by replacing the commonly used plastic, metal, wooden, or bone parts with crystals. Crystals, having a harder density than plastic, wood, or bone, allow more frequencies to be projected through the sound box of the instrument, giving each note a fuller depth. When subjected to pressure, crystals exhibit piezoelectric properties, which changes the polarity of the crystal. This promotes the focusing, storage, transfer, and transformation of energy. As you might guess, as well as improving the tonal quality of the instrument, crystals also emit strong healing vibrations. By then pairing each instrument with a crystal talisman, we can connect ourselves directly with the crystal adorned instrument and the music being created. This ultimately will connect us with the crystal grid of the Earth metaphysically, allowing us to affect more change from our living room, or wherever we are, through our positive intentions set into motion through the music created.
For the past 3.5 years, I have been playing a hammered dulcimer with crystal bridge caps that I built myself. In that time I have built several other hammered dulcimers with crystals, and recently have been replacing bridge saddles and nuts on guitars with crystals. I also have been making Native American style flutes with crystal fetishes. I've been using crystals such as amethyst, fire agate, singing quartz, jade, petrified wood, and rose quartz. My vision is to put power and inspiration into the hearts of musicians so that we can promote positive change in the world with our music, and achieve an overall more enjoyable and complete musical experience.
What We Need & What You Get
My goal is $20,000. Here's why:
I've been building instruments and shaping and fitting crystals without having adequate tools at my disposal. I've been getting it done the roundabout way by borrowing other peoples' tools and utilizing their workshops. I am striving for the capability of performing all steps of my projects in my own workshop. I am in need of many important tools, which I estimate will cost around $10,000. I am asking you to help me acquire tools such as lapidary equipment for optimal shaping and polishing, various types of saws, a belt sander, a jointer, and a planer. Once I have all these tools at my disposal, my productivity will drastically increase.
A big part of my vision is to spread crystal instruments as far as I can. I visualize traveling to different craft fairs and festivals to vend my crystal instruments and upgrades. I would utilize the remaining $10,000 of my goal to purchase a modest trailer to transport tools and instruments, and a used vehicle worthy of hauling it.
