Help Make Syria Fest In DC a Reality!
Help us take thousands on a journey through Syria’s rich historical traditions, delectable food, mesmerizing musical notes, captivating dance, and stunning art!
At a time when everyday individuals think of “war” and “destruction” when they think of Syria, many are unaware or have forgotten entirely what Syria is. The Syria Fest, a Washington, D.C.-based outdoor, immersive, engaging, and memorable cultural festival occurring on September 3, 2017, is dedicated to challenging just that.
The Syria Fest provides a unique opportunity to bring the essence of Syria to Washington D.C. through delicious delicacies like sizzling shawerma and mouth-watering halawit al-jibn made by local Syrian businesses and newly-arrived refugees, mesmerizing folkloric dances and charming musical notes in an all-day stage program, artisans showcasing their intricate and traditional crafts and merchandise, and engaging activity tents that provide participants--both young and old--a hands-on opportunity to interact with Syria’s culture.
Catering to thousands throughout the day in the most central of locations, and inspired by a happy, colorful, and engaging “Syrian Eid” theme, the Syria Fest will take visitors on a journey that they will never forget.
With your financial support, you can turn Syria into one of the handful of countries that have single-country cultural festivals in the nation’s capital!
Your aid will help take thousands of local Greater Washington D.C.-area residents, visiting Syrian-Americans from across the United States, and Labor Day tourists from around the world on the most memorable of travels through Syria. Your support plays an integral role in the cultural impact that the Syria Fest promises to have on the way that Syria, Syrian culture and heritage, and the Syrian people are perceived across the United States.
We invite you to join us in honoring, highlighting, and showcasing the diverse and colorful Syrian culture, music, art, food, and dance: puzzle pieces constituting one of the world’s oldest heritages and histories.
