How it all Began
Hi, we are the Scented Leaf Tea House & Lounge and we started our tea house 7 years ago on University Blvd. It's best to start by saying that our 1st location on University wasn't exactly the tea house that so many have come to love and feel welcomed in.
It originally began as a perfume business in a tiny location at the end of the street, where most customers either walked by unknowingly or simply felt too strange walking into a perfume boutique with the shop only being 10 feet wide. It was a bit unusual but we loved it either way. Unfortunately, the business wasn't making enough money to pay the bills and we felt the need to make some changes. We just didn't know what those changes were at the time. We stumbled across the book The Alchemist and after reading it, we knew that if we asked the Universe for help that it would deliver.
Fast forward to our honeymoon in Spain, with our minds open to possibilities, we found our calling at a tiny tea and gift shop off the beaten path in Granada. For the first time, we saw tea in its loose form, and learned about the flavor and health benefits over bagged tea.
I truly believe it was our destiny that lead us there and now it was our responsibility to run with the opportunity. So, we came back to Tucson and began to offer select loose-leaf teas and blends to customers in our perfume shop. Soon, something began to happen. People started to visit us for tea, not perfume. It was amazing and inspiring to us. It was one of those, "if you build it, then they will come" things that was happening. Before we knew it, we moved to our current location and focused solely on tea. It was time to see what we could do with tea and if we would be accepted as an actual tea house serving customers made-to-order drinks.
Today
After 4 years at our current location, from not knowing how to make tea drinks the right way to offering countless flavor offerings with our patented teas-on-tap system and being a favorite among neighbors, students and visitors alike, we are proud and humbled to say that we have exceeded expectations and are ready to open our 2nd location in downtown Tucson. Even more so, it’s going to be great to offer even more people healthy alternatives to sodas and other sugary drinks. Beyond making amazing drinks, we pride ourselves on customer service and welcome everyone to search our reviews online.
Now comes the next phase in this crazy roller coaster. We have learned a lot these last 4 years. The constant change and mistakes made us who we are today, and we feel that we can make this next location even better. Not only will we continue to make delicious drinks, but we’ll also deliver them faster and offer a more inviting environment to enjoy them in. The funding we receive will go toward:

- And of course, the best tea from around the world
Your help on this campaign will give more people a healthy and safe option in Tucson. It will put Tucson and tea on the map. It will empower more to choose their beverages wisely instead of what the corporate world gives them to drink, and inspire young entrepreneurs to follow their dreams. This is where Tucson becomes Tea-Town.

The perks are simple—the more you’re able to help, the more swag we can offer. However, even the smallest amount helps in infinite ways. Seriously, any amount is extremely appreciated so feel free to help in any way. Also, I need to say that we are not looking for a hand out.
