Why did we start this company?
TGM Entertainment was founded on the belief that good, clean, entertainment has the power to enrich the lives of and inspire youth. K-Pop is a sleek, chic and clean musical genre that has in the past 10 years amassed a growing global following. The fact that it is in a completely different language has not prevented its growth but in reverse opened the door to millions choosing to learn the language. This, and the rising popularity of K-Pop has resulted in a boost of visitors from around the world to South Korea to be at the epicenter of this thriving industry, and of course, get a closer look at the K-Pop stars that they love.
At TGM Entertainment, we want to make K-Pop concerts and acts more accessible to the rest of the world. We want to bring great concerts out of South Korea and replicate them in different areas of the world, focusing on Southeast Asia and North America which are strong, developing markets. We plan to venture out into Europe and the United Kingdom in 2015.
Our aim is to grow this industry beyond what it is today to not only ensure the sustainability of our business, but to generate more opportunities for other businesses and individuals to be a part of this cultural phenomenon.
Why this campaign?
To procure acts and bring them across the globe, there are a multitude of costs involved. While the return is extremely rewarding, the risks are high. The business of concert promotion relies on an airtight marketing and financial strategy to sell tickets and hit targets, which is ultimately how we generate profit.
The way that investment into a concert series works, is that promoters will fund the entire cost beforehand and recoup their investment through ticket sales. Without the right team to promote the event and the experience to keep a reign on budgets, many inexperienced promoters have phased out after just one project because they take such a major financial hit.
This campaign mitigates the risk of upcoming projects by giving us a ready market to approach with a concert. The more funding we have, the more cities we can head to.
While fans are spread out across different cities in America, funding will allow us to do more shows and more frequently, so the chance of a K-Pop concert coming to a city close to you as opposed to just major cities, is much higher.
How Much Do We Need and What Do You Get?
- On average, a typical idol group concert costs $150,000 per city to produce. Promoters tend to shy away from producing shows if they do not foresee the potential in making their money back. A city like New York or Los Angeles, is more likely to sell more tickets, therefore a higher volume of concerts in those cities. We are looking to raise just half of what is needed for a five-city tour that we have planned with a popular male idol group that we have worked with previously. We want this to be a joint effort, half funded by us and half funded by fans. We plan to take the tour to New York, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas and San Francisco/Los Angeles.
- VIP tickets typically range from $200 - $120 dollars and are also the most difficult to acquire as the competition to purchase these tickets is high. Purchasing ahead of time ensures that you get your ticket first with a number of other perks like early entry to the concert, meet and greet with the artist and discounts on merchandise. You also have the option of redeeming a free Standard or General Admission ticket for a friend to the same concert, or redeeming a free Standard or General Admission ticket for yourself to attend another TGM Entertainment Event, even if it is before this particular tour.
- If we do not meet our funding goal, the money you have contributed will still go towards funding this tour. However, we will remove one stop from the five-city plan. It is important that you include your address in your contribution, because it lets us know where in the USA you are and the higher the chance of us coming closer to you!
The Impact
How does this make a difference?
- Every contribution to this project is not only a pledge of trust by you to us, but also a commitment and investment to helping us make this project succeed. The more successful this project, the better chance we have of returning quickly with another project. Typically, we have one show every other month. We have not had a track record of remaining stagnant with no shows. Even if you are not a K-Pop fan, do come out and experience something completely new! We promise it will be a ton of fun.
- We have not been in this industry for a long time, but every concert that we have done, we have had an amazing track record with fans. We do our absolute best to keep fans and our artists happy because we know that we would not be here without either of you. We are known to be a company that treats the artists and their fans with the utmost respect and we want to continue doing this.
Why Us?
We know that there are risks, and that we are not able to please everybody, however our business is not to cut out risks and prevent challenges, but to solve the problems that come our way.
- Our team is comprised of extremely experienced individuals who have a very specific set of skills that tackle problems that come our way quickly and with no fuss. We believe in clear communication between ourselves, the artists and their agency as well as the fans who come to our shows.
- Our team has always been behind the scenes of K-Pop events in the USA, the large scale ones to standalone tours. We provide artist care and coordination as well as the stage and technical production for different promoters and have seen the problems and challenges fans and media go through. Through a successful campaign, the power is put in our hands to change things and make things better. We aim to do the things other promoters have done in the past, but we want to do it right.
Other Ways You Can Help
