Summary

About Us:

My name is Aly Fritz, I am a producer and the lead actor of the film Slicked Back. My partner of 12 years, Matthew Talamantes, is the writer/director (and every other job you can think of). We've been creating together since the beginning and Slicked Back is the epic action film we've been working away at for the past several years. 

Synopsis:

An Irish outlaw named Jane Wroth is fed up with the job she's been given in hell, so in a plan to bargain her way back to earth, she starts stealing the souls of the damned.

Why We Need Your Help:

On April 7th, I lost my partner Matt. He unexpectedly passed away at 33 years old. The devastation of this loss is beyond words and life without him is unfathomable. The one thing driving me is the mission to complete this film in his honor.  

Matt could do it all. He's a self taught filmmaker who writes, shoots and edits his own projects and the work he's done on Slicked Back is a true representation of who he is. The film is 90% shot but in order to complete it, we will need funding to hire the professionals required to replace the many jobs Matt took on himself.

What We Need

Some of the roles needed to complete the film:

• A cinematographer and production crew to shoot the final scenes
• An editor experienced in cutting action
• A colorist to provide color correction on the film
• A sound mixer for the film

Additional costs:

• Location Rentals
• Any additional equipment rentals
• Visual Effects
• Music, Foley and Voiceover

Based on research, discussions with other filmmakers, and looking into the hiring process, I've set our initial funding goal at $35,000.

All who contribute will be invited to the premiere of Slicked Back at a movie theater in Los Angeles once it's completed. It would mean so much to us to celebrate the film with the people who helped make it possible.

The Impact

Matthew Talamantes was a passionate, driven, inspiring human being who loved life and impacted so many. He was a beloved film teacher to middle school students, a volleyball coach to high school athletes, and a filmmaker dedicated to excelling in every area of his craft. He grew up watching and loving action movies, and Slicked Back is his high concept, female led, debut action feature that he was incredibly motivated to bring to life. 

He worked endlessly on the script, the characters, the action scenes and set pieces, the costumes and props, the practical effects and so much more. He built a stylized world around the one of a kind character Jane Wroth, a dynamic and strong female action hero. 

I truly believe that bringing characters like Jane to the big screen has a profound impact on women and the culture we live in. Seeing a dynamic female lead at the center of an action film is rare, special and empowering. Matt always said he loved writing characters for women that would usually be given to a man. Jane is funny, powerful, gritty and relentless. She will stop at nothing to achieve her goal, and with the help of her best friend Charly and a gifted high schooler named Cassie, these women raise hell.

In the wake of this unthinkable loss, I believe my purpose is to finish the unfinished business of the love of my life. By contributing to this campaign, you are helping make that vision a reality. Completing a project that truly meant so much to us both.
