Karima Walker and Human Behavior have been touring together since January of this year, and on their own for way longer. They've been all over the US and have played music in houses, clubs, record stores, DIY spaces, and bars. They're currently traveling the west coast, touring their new albums.

At 5pm on August 24th, Karima Walker and Andres Parada (Human Behavior) decided to stop at a pull-off in the red woods for a quick dip in the river. Karima was taking pictures of flowers while Andres lounged on a rock island. Within 20 minutes, Karima returned to the tour vehicle to see two broken windows.

All together, $5000 of equipment was stolen. That includes a Chuck Lee banjo and a vintage Mossman acoustic guitar. This doesn't include damages to our vehicle or Karima's personal possessions that were stolen (journals, phone, wallet, money, credit cards.) We have missed two shows on our west coast tour due to navigating insurance and repairs. We've lost the tools we use to connect with people and access our love for music.

While we waited for the police to arrive, a man and his son waited with us. We were trying to explain how upset we were to lose our favorite objects, to which he responded, "You chose them."

We've set up this fundraiser to offset our losses. The money we raise will go towards a new banjo and guitar, so we can keep touring and recording. This includes cases, pickups, etc.

There are a few ways you could help us:

1. Tell your friends to come to our remaining west coast shows. We make beaucoup dolares from that. (http://www.humanbehaviormusic.com/EARS.html)

2. Buy an album. Give it to your idiot brother. Then buy another.

3. Scour the Pacific Northwest (specifically Humboldt and Mendocino county) for some well equipped mouth-breathers playing bluegrass on stolen gear. Or, just check Craigslist in that area.
(The big hitters: A cherry, 12", open back, Chuck Lee banjo with a pickup in the body. In a light brown hard leather case -velvety green interior- SERIAL NUMBER 688.  And a 1975 Mossman Great Plains with  pickup in an off white hard plastic case.)

4. Tell your idiot brother to bring his friends to our west coast show.

5. Donate here, what you can.

Already, people have been so supportive, and empathic. We're able to finish up our tour with makeshift gear, and hope to tour again. Seriously, thanks forever.
