Israeli Ultimate Frisbee National Team
After experiencing a tough tournament and unsatisfying results in the last World Ultimate Championship, a group of the leading players from that team decided to bring together the most talented, experienced and promising players from all around the country into one unit.
The Israeli Ultimate Frisbee community wishes to send a real, well trained, all Israeli, SUPER team for the first time to an international tournament.
Our first opportunity to do exactly that would be this summer at Windmill Windup 2017 and YOU could help us make it happen!
Ultimate is a non-contact team sport played with a Frisbee on a football sized grass field.
Points are scored by passing the disc to a teammate in the opposing end-zone, players are not allowed to move with the disc, defense turns to offense if the disc is intercepted, falls on the ground, or lands/caught out of bounds.
The uniqueness of the sport is that it is self-refereed and players make the calls on the field, if there is a disagreement on the field players must follow the rules and decide the correct outcome for the call. This develops honesty and communication between players which known in the Ultimate community as Spirit Of The Game.
In four years (2020) at the World Ultimate Championship, the Israeli team will make sure to create a new reputation for itself through hard work, regular year-round training system, and well built relationships among players.
The team will participate in different international tournaments yearly to gain more experience as individuals and as a whole.
The team will be made of superstars from previous youth national teams, experienced veteran players, and current youth team star players.
Since the Israeli ultimate is not fully founded or supported by any agency of government, we need your help not only for tournament budgets, but also for the year-round training.
Some of the players on the team are struggling financially since most of the team is made of soldiers in their mandatory service, and we would like to help them as much as possible to be able to bring all of them with us to a tournament.
Under our expenditures you find:
-Facilities ($200 per month): The team has to rent its own fields for practices.
-Medical ($350):We would like to have a full medical bag in every practice incase anyone would need treatment, the equipment will also be used during tournament if needed.
-Tournament fees ($450 per player): For every tournament the players have to pay individual player fee and a team fee that splits between all of us, in addition the players have to pay for their own flights and accommodation before and after the tournament.
-Equipment ($120 per player + $1200 for team accommodations): The team needs a full set of uniforms to play in tournaments along with discs, cones, etc for practices.
Also, a good amount of tournaments require the teams to provide their own sleeping arrangements (usually tents). We would like to purchase a reliable pair of big tents because it is important to assure that players will have good sleeping conditions.
