When a college drop-out buys the motorcycle of his dreams, he must keep it a secret from his overbearing mother - or else - heads will roll.
GREETINGS...
My name is Joe Mischo and I love horror, comedy, and all the sweet spots in-between.
A group of budding filmmakers and myself are putting the iron to the fire this winter and shooting the story of JADE.
As you may already know, indie filmmaking can be tricky! We're ready to grind ourselves into the ground but there are a few things we can't just will ourselves:
- Locations
- 16mm Film Stock
- Post-Production Funding
- Music Licensing
WHAT WE NEED
We're hoping to raise $10,000 that will go directly to the creation of our short film.
-
Locations: Junkyard, Garage, Morgue ($3,000)
-
Kodak 16mm Film Stock ($1,000) - This will get us 1600 feet, ~40 min.
-
Film Development, Processing, and Digital Scans ($2,500)
-
Sound Design & Mix ($1,000)
-
Colorist ($1,000)
-
Music Licensing ($1,500)
Funds will go directly to the list above in the order they're listed so if we don't reach our entire goal, we'll still be able to secure locations and some film stock to shoot!
WHAT YOU GET
We'll be providing contributors with a variety of memorabilia from the shoot including: original storyboards, props, featured wardrobe, and... the namesake of the film "Jade", a 1975 Honda CB550 motorbike.
We promise, this shit will be beyond cool. Check out the perks on the sidebar to the right!
WE NEED YOU!
Last autumn, our crew shot my first short film SILVER GLEAMING DEATH MACHINE. I maxed out credit cards and dug into my savings to fully self-fund the short and now I need your help to make JADE possible!
I promise that every penny given will be seen on-screen.
THE FILMMAKERS
![]()
Born in Indiana, raised in Wisconsin, and trained in Minnesota, Joe is a son of the American heartland. As a child, he wasn't pointing a camera or standing in front of one. He was the loud-mouth recruiting and organizing neighborhood talent to help tell his stories. Not much has changed since then.
"When I was six, I destroyed my grandfather's brand new Hi8 camcorder by blasting him in the face with a super soaker. This work is my atonement."

Matt was born and raised in Grand Rapids, MI where his fascination with light began. He studied Cinematography at Columbia College Chicago and has been living in Los Angeles since 2014 where he enjoys the great outdoors, playing folk music on the banjo, and photography (Todd Hido, Alex Webb, and Diane Arbus are some of his favorites).
THE CAST
A film is nothing without characters. We're excited to introduce...

Originally from Bloomington, Minnesota, Vinny Balbo was raised by his two artistically-inclined parents and was surrounded by multimedia art and design from birth. From an early age, Vinny would take his parents' camcorder and create short films: a passion that has not lost any momentum to this day.
Other Ways You Can Help
Things are tough right now and money is tight. If you're unable to support us financially, please consider helping us by spreading the word about our project on social media and within your circle of friends. We'll also except thoughts, prayers, and certain curses!
