Who?
Hi there! I’m Jeremy Ellis. I’m a worship pastor who has the privilege of serving a local church in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. In service to God’s people, I have been called to write and share new worship songs with the local church. The Lord has opened up a door for me to work with Daniel Ornellas, who currently records and ministers with Brenton Brown, a well-known international worship leader and songwriter. I met Daniel 3 years ago at a conference for worship leaders. This led to Daniel and Brenton coming to lead worship for our congregation’s 2nd anniversary service in August of 2011. Since then, Daniel has been mentoring and guiding me in developing as a songwriter who desires to serve the church.
What, When, & Where?
In taking a step of faith I have booked flights to Franklin, TN for the week of November 13th through the 20th, 2012 to record a CD of 5 original songs. There is much work involved in the process of recording an album, including the cost of production, studio rental, and musicians, as well as mixing and mastering the finished recording. My budget to complete this work is $8,550. The Lord has currently provided for $5,550 toward this goal. My prayer has been that God will provide for what He wants to accomplish through this project regardless of the goal that I have set.
Why?
Since May of 2010, I have had a passion and desire to pursue the idea of recording an album of original songs.
At the beginning of this year I asked the Lord if there was anything He specifically wanted me to focus on in ministering to His people at Mountain Springs Church (MSC). The answer that came to me from the pages of Scripture was Colossians 3:16 which reads, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”
As I’ve sought to make this charge a reality in my everyday life, as well as be faithful in ministry, the pages of Scripture and the teaching at MSC continue to inspire me to write and craft songs. It is my prayer that these songs will help people to know God, and live in all the wisdom of the ways of Jesus Christ.
Furthermore, as a worship pastor, God has burdened me with the realities of what breaks His own heart—the poor and the needy—and has given me a vision to use music as a means to give to those who are unable to provide for themselves through the support of local & global missions.
How can I get involved?
1) As the apostle Paul asked of the church in Rome, please "strive together with me in your prayers to God on my behalf" (Romans 15:30).
2) There is opportunity for you to partner financially in this work, as I still need to raise $3000 to cover the remaining cost of production and printing.
3) Spreading the word to others who may be interested in sharing in the fruit of this work. The Indiegogo share tools make this quite simple, or share the word however you wish to do so!
What are the “perks” and why have them?
Indiegogo campaigns have this concept of “perks” built into them. Typically they are perks that people receive as a benefit of investing in particular projects. I have a few of these built in such as a digital as well as a physical pre-order option. However, a majority of the perks are flipped upside down in the sense that I have decided to personally give a perk to someone in need. My wife and I decided to do this one Christmas season through World Vision, and we were so overjoyed to do this as a family. Thus, in this same spirit, I have decided to incorporate this idea into my project!
Conclusion
I would be so grateful and blessed if you would labor with me in prayer for this work! If you would like to partner in this work by financially contributing towards its completion, any amount would be a blessing and a step closer to realizing the completion of this project.
