Hello, I’m John Celestri. I’ve been creating comics and animation for 45+ years.

I animated the first appearance of the iconic Boba Fett in the Star Wars Holiday Special, and many other cartoon shows of the 1970s and 1980s. These include Filmation Studio’s He-Man, She-Ra; and Don Bluth’s Dragon’s Lair and Space Ace video games.

I want to share some of my drawings and behind the scene experiences with you!

I animated on the cult classic feature ROCK & RULE…

AND one of my favorite projects I animated was the always entertaining four BATMAN ZELLERS commercials.

Now, I’ve turned my talents and experience to creating my own characters  for a line of all-ages comics aimed at young kids…and reawakening an  adult’s Inner Child!

What’s so different about what I’m doing, you ask? Well, I’m creating for a much younger audience than what is today’s beginning readership for comic books, which is 13 to 15 years old.

My characters and stories are for the “Seedlings,” kids who are between 4 to 12 years old. And within that age range I have two specific groupings: 4 to 7, and 8 to 12.

I’m being very specific in my age grouping because as kids grow from 4 to 7 and develop into 8 to 12 year olds, what entertains them also develops and changes.

Snuffy & Zoey Toy Box Adventures focuses on two sibling bears who jump into their magic toy box and have adventures. My idea is to encourage young readers to explore their imaginations and create their own entertainment and stories.

In the first 24 page book, Snuffy and Zoey try to steal cupcakes from a dragon!

In the second 32 page book, Snuffy and Zoey’s soccer ball bounces into the magic box and is lost inside! In trying to find it, Snuffy and Zoey are captured by a gang of Pirates made out of colorful balloons!

Nicky Nardson: Mega Moose Comics is about a bullied nerd, who is magically given extraordinary powers. With a wave of a magic feather, Nicky can change into a Minotaur-type being with all the powers of the animal kingdom. The series is aimed at youngsters dealing with surviving elementary and middle school society. The first issue contains two standalone stories (12 and 16 pages).

I write my stories in a manner that does not talk down to kids in a condescending manner. My goal is to reintroduce innocence and a feeling of whimsy to comics. I don’t mean a “sugary” innocence, but rather innocence in a way that kids are. Let them grow up naturally; comic stories don’t need to force feed kids darkness.

All 4 oversized (8.3 x 11.7 inch) books, are much larger than the standard comic book size, and printed on heavy premium paper.

These include a 16 page Snuffy & Zoey Draw and Color book, which offers basic drawing lessons and coloring pages…
