I have an interesting project in mind that other firearms fans may be interested in

AK47 Buyers Guide , the ultimate Kalashnikov resource

Project Summary

What I would like to do, with the help of anyone interested in participating, is build the ultimate resource for all things Kalashnikov.

This will take sometime, but the technical aspects are covered as well as plenty of content. All we need is some time to develop and build something that has never been attempted to this point

Unlike a book or magazine article, an online project can grow, be edited and strive to always be as accurate as possible, without  the issues of reprinting or updating with new additions

The Needs Dreams

• Some time to build (thats really all we need)
• All funds from perks will be used to allocate time to build this project
• IF, we raise enough funds,  we have Reached our Goal !!
• Next, Check Out our Stretch Goals !!
  The ultimate goal would be to use the software we used on GunChannels.com to build a complete user based Kalashnikov community (if we can get to $3,000+ That stuff isn't cheap)

The Impact

Why are we doing this?:

• Because it is a challenge, no one has even attempted such an archive
• The lack of good AK info, for no reason, the info is all out there, but no one has accumulated it into one place for easy research
• To encourage more Kalashnikov collectors, builders & shooters. There are so many options now, it is difficult to know who you can trust.
  A crowd funded resource can offer non-bias FACTS
• Anti-Gun-Owner Groups constantly use misrepresentation & ignorant "facts" to justify their position.. this project will archive facts. The pro-gun owners-rights folks can then use our resource to be factual and consistent when defending our rights

The Perks

Stretch Goals

• Anything over the initial funding 
  All funding will give us time to devote to building the AK47 Buyers Guide project. Creating new resources, fixing and editing existing pages and developing new aspects of the project.
• $3,000 - Membership / Community Software upgrade
  This level of funding would allow us to buy & install strong, software to allow interaction, discussion and collaboration between anyone interested in the Kalashnikov like no other forum, website or social media platform has been able to do. The system will be free to join & use, and open to any Kalashnikov fan, collector, shooter, builder or manufacturer. In addition we will upgrade the servers to support a larger audience with speed and accessibility 
• $6,000+   Travel to Kalashnikov Builders in the USA
  The offers are on the table, we just need funds to pay for gas, food, etc
  Grab a patch, share the project & let's see how far we can go
  
• $12,000? - Travel to Kalashnikov Builders in Poland & Elsewhere
  No idea how much travel to Poland might cost, but we have an offer to see the Polish Kalshnikov factory floor (if we can get our cameras there)  
  So, any funding left over after the initial software & hosting costs, and after any USA travel, will fund a trip to Poland

Risks & Challenges

This will be our 15th Crowdfunding adventure.

• Risks are negligible, all perks already exist and are on hand and ready to ship the day the project funds are released
• We have successfully fulfilled thousands of perks from cowdsourcing projects, since these are all already on hand, there should be no issues
• IF we do not make the goal, all perks WILL be sent.
  No one will loose on this project
• IF we do not raise enough to buy the elaborate software ($3,000+) we will work with less expensive (free) software and still build the Ultimate Kalashnikov Resource
