The Story

With the rising popularity of vampires and werewolves, we feel it's high time that REAL witches get a chance to tell their story.

 The Craft meets Steampunk - with an "Alice in Wonderland" twist - in the mature, 60-minute supernatural drama series MAGICK.

BLAIRE RAMSAY (Chelsea Mongrain), a Goth girl from British Columbia, escapes to Toronto, pursued by the spirits of the dead and a past that began long before she was born. She meets a short-tempered Punk named RUMER GIBSON (Rachel Little) and her foster sisters: DREW CALLAHAN (Vanessa Quagliara) – the bookworm geek, and COURTNEY RICHELIEU (Elizabeth Stuart-Morris) – the French princess.

But before Blaire gets a chance to learn any more about her new acquaintances, the four are abruptly transported to a curious Steampunk universe inhabited by creatures of all shapes, size, and magickal background.

Creatures, the likes of which, have never been seen before by most humans. The girls have no idea where or why they are there.... or even what happened. One thing's for certain, they’re not in Toronto anymore. But that doesn’t answer the bigger question – how will they get back?

MAGICK will become the NEW hit series that is completely online. An ensemble cast, MAGICK is the story of four young witches who are the scions of the four elements (Earth, Air, Fire, and Water) each possesses a supernatural ability based on their element - some they know about, and some which surprise the living $#!t out of them.

MAGICK is a journey of self-discovery for the “sisters” as well as the viewer. As the series progresses, the scions learn more about this new magickal world – discovering not only that they are the ones supposed to be ruling it, but there are those that will go to any means necessary - ANY means - to stop that from happening.

At its heart, MAGICK is a character-driven show. 10 years of effort has been put into the creation of this series to ensure that the characters and their situations are real and relatable. As the four girls attempt to become queens of this magickal land, dark forces thwart their every step.

Though our four young women are witches, the series is not simply about witches. MAGICK is about discovering who you truly are, and the difficulties you must undergo to achieve that realization.

Help Make Magick Happen

At its core, MAGICK is a supernatural drama with action, comedy, suspense, romance, horror, fantasy AND #SexyMoments.

Here’s where you come in:

Our seasons are a 6-episode run, in which our season premiere and season finalé are 90 minutes, just like a movie, and every episode in between is a full 60 minutes. This gives us the chance to twist our storylines in so many different ways that at the end of each episode... You know you want to Tweet it: #PlotTwist!

$25,000 will NOT fund the entire project, but it will certainly go a long way in enabling us to acquire the basics required to make the pilot a reality.

Our initial goal is to raise $150,000 to shoot our pilot. This amount will cover everything from equipment, to permits, to paying our large cast and crew. Not to mention our intense and integral post-production. For episodes 2 through 5, we will need $100,000 each to shoot. Our finalé will require $150,000 in order to give you that big bang at the end.

As you can see: your contribution is not simply appreciated, it is necessary for us to move forward - for you to see the show YOU want to see.

Who’s Involved?

Gabrielle Darque – Director, Executive Producer, Series Co-Creator

Gabrielle Darque has been fascinated with film and TV since she was very young. While working at a video store in Drumheller, Alberta, she started watching everything she could from their shelves and soon began to notice that not many women were involved in making Horror movies - or movies in general, for that matter.

In 2003, Gabrielle had the initial idea for MAGICK. She wanted to make something that she could proudly say was a story pagans could be proud of watching. And one that everyone else would be curious enough to check it out. In 2006, she moved to Toronto, Ontario to attend film school at the International Academy of Design & Technology (IADT). There, she performed the role of Casting Director for several short films for her fellow classmates and worked on such shorts as Dead Men Play No Blues, Knockout 29, The Corner Shop, Charlie’s Bad Break, and a webseries entitled People to Kill.

It was in IADT and on-set that Gabrielle found people who were interested in the franchise and saw the tremendous potential of the series.

Franchise Vision

We have Season One fleshed out, and have completed the scripts for MAGICK. We didn’t just stop there though, we have an overall story arc for our first five seasons.

Season One will be spellbinding, and we have so much more to show you in the seasons to come.

SUPERNATURAL ALERT: You have NEVER seen Vampires and Werecreatures done like this before!

It’s been scientifically proven that all it takes to elicit change, in any given area, is a mere square root of 1% of that area’s population sharing a common thought. We wish to bring the common thought of magick, and all the love it holds, to our audience. We feel that one show, this show, can change the world for the better.

A website is the first step to beginning that process.

Our website will be the heart of the franchise. We are currently in the site's cooking process. This will be interactive so we can keep our audience involved.

It’s not about the suspension of disbelief, it’s about the expansion of belief - it’s the reality of MAGICK.

Our stretch goals

This is how our show will break down:

Episode 1 (pilot): From a playground in Nelson BC, through the streets of Toronto Ontario, to an elemental shrine in the Magickal Otherworld, the 90-minute Pilot episode follows Blaire’s escape from the death-seeking Ragged Man. During her flight, she meets three other young women who share similar supernatural abilities. Though part of a family for the first time in her life, Blaire cannot rest - The Ragged Man is dogged in his pursuit and will not stop until she breathes her last. Blaire's newfound sisters can help, but only so much.

We're looking for the initial $150,000 to make a finished product. We plan on drawing the audience in with our first episode, which'll keep them coming back for more!

If we make our goals, we'll build a special “Easter Egg” into our website for all of you (TBA).
