Maya Magic
Maya Magic is an attempt to bering the experience of enlightenment to the screen. What it could look like and how it might feel. As far as we know, this theme has never been done to this extent. However, Maya Magic is not a sanctimonious, lofty film about the joys of enlightenment. We want it to be an experience understood in our physical dimension because we feel this subject is vital to us as individuals and as a society.
The Plot
Dissatisfied with his life, a film director goes to meet two reclusive scientists on an island off Belize. They have perfected a two-stage formula to bring a person to enlightenment. Their offer comes with a troubling aura of mystery and magic. The filmmaker agrees to this exotic experiment and the drama is set in motion.
We don’t want to give away the plot but this much we can say, the last half hour will come to a stunning, unexpected, conclusion you will not forget.
Funding
Maya Magic is a unique project looking for funding from people who want something different. If you would like to donate to a project you can be proud to have supported, we ask your help to fund our budget of $1,250,000. This graph breaks it down:

The budget is low and one of the reasons is that the writer, director, and producer will receive no money until the film is sold and distributed. It’s your assurance that we’re committed to making Maya Magic a financial success and we’re willing to work tirelessly to make it happen.

In the film “Network,” Peter Finch urges his TV audience to go to the window and shout, “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore!” Today, I’m asking you to go to your computers and phones and send this message, “I’m mad as hell and I want MORE! More than crime, murder and mayhem, more than war and destruction, more than degrading comedies, more than bloody horror films!... I want Maya Magic!”
If you can’t send money, consider sending this appeal to friends and family – it may resonate with them.
Sincere thanks for your time.
