My Clean City
My Clean City is a national environmental program that strives to provide youth with progressive volunteer opportunities, positive leadership experiences, and impacting community involvements in the environmental sector. We are a leadership program run by youth for youth, with measurable results.
We acknowledge the potential of young people to make our world a better place. There are so many incredible resources and community programs dedicated to improving our environment, but lack active youth engagement. Rather than add to the overflowing sector, My Clean City strives to strengthen the existing efforts of committed organizations. We are a collaborative project that works with existing environmental organizations, and grassroot programs to engage, enable and evaluate youth volunteer actions with the goal of building a more environmentally sustainable future.
As the catalyst between non-profit organizations and today’s youth, My Clean City will provide a unified portal for like-minded individuals to access all of these opportunities and realize as a team the big difference many small actions can make!
My Clean City Approach
The common youth perspective of volunteering = work is no more.
My Clean City instead makes volunteering = play, a game, an experience full of rewards!
Through an interactive online interface, youth will earn CleanCreds for the environmentally friendly activities performed.
Differing from other environmental initiatives, My Clean City is a merit and results-based endeavor; beyond simply raising awareness of core environmental issues and problems, My Clean City strives to quantify youth impact through the recording of results and the crediting of volunteers and organizations that assist in environmental goals. Together—through this collaborative effort—we can reduce Canada’s carbon footprint and inspire others towards a cleaner country!
We Need You!
An integral pillar of our program is to acknowledge the work of young Canadian leaders. Through our CleanCred system, we strive to reward our passionate young environmental ambassadors for their hard work.
CleanCreds are based on both effort (volunteer time donated) and impact (positive effect in our community); those with the highest cumulative total at the end of our program will be awarded scholarships and mentorship opportunities to grow their impact to the next level.
ALL the funds raised will go directly into these scholarships. Your contributions will be a donation that keeps on giving as you enable My Clean City to support our future community leaders.
$5000 is the bare minimum we need for our scholarships. This will only cover a $500/province scholarship.
Ideally we would like to offer at least $1000/province which would require us to raise $10,000.
Even better, with your generous support if you help us surpass this goal, we will be able to open up our scholarships to recognize more young leaders in your region.
Our wishlist is $30,000 to allow us to support 3 bright young leaders in each province.
If you:
- believe in the potential of youth
- desire a more sustainable future
- value bridging the gap between youth and community
- wish to strengthen existing environmental efforts
- foster leadership in young Canadians
- empower leaders of today to find their ability to help community
- move beyond awareness for environmental change and promote action....
if you answer yes to any of these, we urge you to consider supporting My Clean City in our efforts to build sustainable communities through the power of YOUth!
