Masters and Princesses!
If you’ve
come to our humble little funding page, you probably know who we are, or have had the opportunity to visit us in the past. For those of you who aren’t
familiar with us, we are My Cup of Tea, a maid café held at the Anime USA
convention in Washington DC. For a few hours on the Friday and Saturday of the
show, we run our café at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel restaurant, where our
customers can come in, enjoy a nice meal, play games, take pictures and watch
small performances, all put on by our cast of volunteer maids (You can see us by clicking on the "Gallery" tab). Just like any
other staff member at Anime USA, we are entirely unpaid, and all monies brought
in by the café are used to improve both the café and the convention as a whole
for future years.
Since we are
just one small part of a larger organization, we don’t have many opportunities
to promote ourselves, or even put together items and projects that our patrons
would really enjoy. For the longest time, we’ve dreamed of having the chance to create a calendar that will allow the people who come to visit us at the
convention a chance to spend even more time with us, even if it’s only on
paper.
With the
advent of crowdfunding, we thought it would be a great chance to try our hand
at getting this calendar project off the ground, and we really hope you’ll help
us make our wish come true! If this project is successful, not only will we be
able to use the funding to create a fun calendar, but any extra money can help
us improve what we offer at the café itself.

We know that
$15,000 seems like a lot for a simple 16-month calendar (September 2015 - December 2016), but with the distances
many of us have to travel in order to get to a location for shooting, the costs
to book rooms for all of us, the props we’ll need for various seasonal shots, and
the actual printing and shipping costs, this amount will cover everything we
need to make certain that we can put out the best calendar for you!
In order to show
our thanks to everyone who is generous enough to donate to our project, we have
worked with Anime USA to put together some really great perks. Like all campaigns, we'll be grateful
for any donation you wish to make. Please note that, in order to control our costs, we can't ship any of these perks outside the U.S.

Goals!!
Of course, we all know
that some crowdfunding campaigns aren’t successful, while some go way beyond
what is expected. Since this project is designed to offset the costs of
lodging, shooting and printing the calendar, we may be limited in what we can
do if we fall short of our goal.
To start with, no matter what happens, any perks that don't include the calendar itself will be honored. This includes the thank you notes, pictures, posters, badges, meet & greet, early access and hotel room.

If we hit $8,000 in donations, we can guarantee that all of our donors at $30 and above will get their calendar, since we will have covered the cost of the photo shoot and at least a limited print run.
If we hit our goal, we can move ahead with the project at full speed, and make the calendar available for anyone who will want to purchase it at either Anime USA itself, or at any other event Anime USA might have a presence.
If we're lucky enough to pass our goal, we'll update this page and e-mail all of our donors with details on the next stretch goal.

Even if you can’t donate
to the project now, helping us spread the word about the project would still
mean the world to us. By just telling your friends, or using the share button
on this page, you help us put our wish out there so people can help us make it
come true.
Thank you!
