Short Summary
Nova is a science fiction comic mini-series consisting of 6 books. It's being created by two people (with special thanks to a few others): Paul Benoit (writer) and Ricky
Gunawan(artist).
This pitch, in fact, is being written by Paul. Hi. Here's something to consider. For as long as I've been able to remember I've had stories in my head that begged to be told. Ideas that needed to be put to paper. I know that for Ricky, aside from his love of art and his need to pay rent, this project means alot to him. But for me, it means everything. So I'm asking, please help us both share our story with the world!
What We Need & What You Get
We're asking for $1650.
- The funds will be used so that the first comic book in the series can be completed. Afterwards we will attempted to get publishing or event self-publish depending on public interest. Afterwards, any sales of the comics will go towards further funding the remainder of the series and in the even of overflow will go towards a future creative project.
- The funds being asked for are all being paid to Ricky so he can continue to work on this project while passing up more lucrative work. He has bills to pay and realistically it can't be expected that he can take off so much time to work on the comic with recompense. Keep in mind that each page requires him to pencil, ink, color and letter. A week long process.
The perks we offer are all creative or appreciatory in nature. We offer things that we create, including the comic itself and concept art. Also we offer a few unique perks on top of the usual thank-you's and acknowledgements.
The Impact
Nova isn't your run of the mill action comic. The sci-fi setting and close character interactivity of the setting allow us to explore many important themes and issues.
-Besides offering an enjoyable read, we hope to open people's minds up to many ideas from moral coersion and loyalty, identity and sexuality and truth and its virtues.
This is our first project together but we have been able to collaborate for over two months in order to complete the pitch pages you see here. This should stand as a testimony of our ability to accomplish what we set out to achieve.
