ABOUT THIS PROJECT
This is an album of music created in isolation and a confined space.
Like all One Cure for Man albums, it deals with a variety of themes such as language, loneliness, jealousy, preserving the arts, exploring the very depths of the human condition and ultimately creating a better world for ourselves.
Most of the melodies have been written on the piano at home which has given the songs a more introspective feel but with a widescreen and expansive vision. Despite their obvious melodic sensibilities, there are many lyrically dark themes to counter-balance the upbeat and often majestic music.
As ever, I've tried to pour my heart and soul into the melodies, lyrics and artwork I hope they will make you feel something and perhaps even add something richer to your lives.
This new project is a collection of 11 new songs, 11 music videos, 11 original paintings, and additional original artwork for future videos.
ABOUT ME
I’m James Parkinson, a deep thinker and full-time musician and teacher with a degree in illustration. I've grown up around nature, music and the arts which has all had a profound effect on me.
Most days I have a guitar or piano in my hands and I'm always thinking of melodies or creative ways to express myself and help my music students also. All my music is woven into my love of art, film, poetry and books.
For me, life is much more fulfilled when songs dig deep into our experiences and the very soul of what it is to be a human.
In the last decade, I have created four albums and two Ep's (most recently the We All Pretend Ep) as well as countless music videos and artwork. I've had so many wonderful comments, encouragement and support from many people over the years.
All of this I've done on my own but now I can see how I've created a gap between us by keeping you - my friends and family - out of the process. I'm changing this from now on.

This album was birthed in isolation, but we all deserve for it to be released collaboratively.
