About this campaign
We are Michael Martinez and Matthew Smith. Combined we have 20 years of experience in the restaurant/customer service industry and a deep understanding of what it takes to make a bar not only work, but be a fun place for employees and guests. We both have a lifelong passion for video games, new and old, and decided to take on our own business venture we knew there was no better path than starting our very own bar arcade.
We have visited bar arcades across the midwest and know what works in them and what doesn't. We have taken the time to speak to the Broad Ripple community and know what they would like to see in a new bar.
We have our initial investment but we need your help to get us through the start up period that so many bars struggle in. Your support will help us with renovations of our space, purchasing new arcades machines, general start up costs, and your name will be immortalized on our backer wall along with other perks.
What We Need & What You Get
The funding we will receive from this campaign will specifically go towards renovations of the space we are opening in (i.e. paint, flooring, and electrical work) and partially towards the cost of our arcade machines. Even if we don't reach our goal, any amount is a huge help. If we pass it, that means we get to buy more cool arcades for the bar!
Some of the benefits to you for supporting us will be a free drink card, a One Up T-Shirt, free access to tournaments, entrance to our grand opening, and even your very own arcade machine.
The Impact
Broad Ripple is a fun and exciting hub of night life for northern Indianapolis. We want to add to that in our own unique way by being Broad Ripple's first bar arcade, providing a fun and interactive experience unlike anything in the area, and YOU can help us make that happen.
We are going to be taking over the empty space right on the main strip next to Hot Box Pizza, right across the street from the Chase Bank. This central location will make us easily accessible to anyone out walking the Broad Ripple neighborhood.
Risks & Challenges
Our biggest risk is that we both will be first time business owners. However, our level of experience in the restaurant industry leaves us with zero doubts or hesitation that this will prevent us from being successful.
We have years of experience in the restaurant industry, management experience, and will be working with the Small Business Administration arm of the U.S. government to ensure we are always on the best path to success. We have spoken with other area business owners and are entirely confident we are prepared to make this successful.
Other Ways You Can Help
If you aren't able to help us financially we understand, but that doesn't mean you can't help at all. Get the word out and tell your friends and family about our campaign. Share it on social media and show your excitement for what we're doing.
If you think you can help us in any other aspects of our business, please feel free to message us and let us know. We'd be happy to talk to you.
