About The Film
When private investigator Jim Noble moves into a beautiful loft complex in Tampa, he never expects to find his first case literally right outside his door - the corpse of one of his neighbors, right in the middle of the complex's courtyard. When he's hired to solve the crime, Jim quickly learns that everyone in the complex has secrets, and that someone was willing to kill to keep their secrets hidden.
Out To Kill (which is a working title) is the seventh film from Guest House Films and award-winning writer/director Rob Williams, following the hit gay films Long-Term Relationship, Back Soon, 3-Day Weekend, Make The Yuletide Gay, Role/Play and The Men Next Door. It marks a departure from the company's past work in romantic comedies and dramas, and lets Williams and his partner in Guest House Films (and his real-life fiance), Rodney Johnson, explore their love of mysteries - but with a gay twist, of course.
Out To Kill is tentatively scheduled to shoot on location in Tampa, Florida, in November 2013, followed by an expected run on the gay film festival circuit in 2014, with a DVD and VOD release in the fall of 2014, just in time for the holidays.
What We Need
Our goal for this IndieGogo campaign is $20,000 - but that doesn't cover the entire budget, or even the main production budget. But it's a starting point, and it would be a HUGE help in getting this film going. If we can actually reach and exceed our initial goal, making the film will be that much easier.
Whatever funds we raise will go directly to the film's production - paying actor and crew salaries, renting or buying camera and lighting equipment, securing production insurance, catering and craft services (and you always want to keep the cast and crew well fed!), props and wardrobe. Shooting on location in Tampa also will require funds to get key personnel across the country from our home base in Los Angeles, and that is an important part of the budget.
What You Get
We have tried to offer a variety of perks at different contribution levels. So whether you simply want to pre-order the DVD, or you want to own a piece of artwork or clothing seen in the film, or even if you want to come to the set, there's an option for you.
BUT if you want something specific that we don't have listed, let us know! We always have the ability to add new perks as we go along, and we want to make our fans happy!
This will be the seventh feature film from Guest House Films, and we want to continue making gay-themed movies as long as there is a demand. We're proud of our previous, award-winning films, and we have had wonderful feedback from the people who have generously supported our previous crowdfunding campaigns. We think Out To Kill will be an exciting new addition to our collection, and we want our fans to have the opportunity to be a part of the production.
