As we see it there are 4 distinct markets that could be addressed implementing this technology.

#1- Introduce a new style of luggage

#2- Carts that could be sold to consumers via bog box stores and or online

#3- Industrial carts that could be sold via material handling distributors to the manufacturing market place

#4- Carts designed to be used by large retail stores such as Sam's, Wal-Mart, Target etc.

Port City Inc. is at a point where we need to locate a manufacturing partner(s) to build the product.

Port City Inc. see two needs one is a company that can do injection molding inserting the mechanism and the output would be the new suitcase design.  The other is a metal fabrication house that can build the carts in many sizes, shapes and colors as needed for items 2, 3, 4 above.

Port City Inc. wants to build these in the US with veteran service people if possible.  Off  shore supplies are not out of the question, If we can’t get it made in America.

 I.      Corporate Profile

Port City Inc. is a United States corporation that was created to promote patented American made products related to the luggage industry, manufactured within the United States and to facilitate other manufacturers under licensed agreements to reduce the $2.9 bn cost of lost and mishandled luggage.

A.                 Port City Inc. History

Jack Arnold, founder and former Union Representative for the railroad industry from 1979 - 2003, traveled across the United States, meeting people from all walks of life.  Many of these people, had a common challenge of struggling with the logistics of transporting their life’s possessions.  From 2006 - 2007, Jack owned a Limo and Cab Service company furthering his hands-on experience working with people, transporting them as well as their life’s possessions.

Observations and aptitude for tinkering with inventions, his interest in designing efficient safe luggage heightened and developed on June 6, 2007, with his first drawing of what has been described as, “the next generation of luggage and luggage tracking”.  With the guidance of Small Business Administration Center at South West Florida Gulf Coast University, his tinkering evolved into trademark registration, patent applications, meetings with the Airline Transport Association and today, a spirited team to drive Port City Inc.’s mission.  After six years of research and development, “We are ready for Manufacturing”.

B.                 Business Philosophy

It’s a proven fact, that regardless of what you do to sell a product; you must have a product that the consumer wants to buy.  Port City Inc. delivers a demand driven product with features that are functional and benefit the traveling public.  Some of the challenges we will address are:

  • Travelers and transporters struggling with awkward luggage and precariously placed tumbling stacks of belongings

  • Passenger over head placement of carry on bags which can be a challenge and cause injuries
