Pocket Bravery is an original fighting game, made completely hand drawn in pixel art, with a dynamic and responsive gameplay, focused on the characters’ animations with the aim to get fluidity during matches.

The game is inspired by classics from the 90s, such as Street Fighter, Fatal Fury and The King of Fighters. And its SD aesthetic was influence on games like Pocket Fighter and other fighting games from Neo Geo Pocket Color.
But make no mistake, Pocket Bravery was created to be a new and unique fighting game, with original characters, vibrant colors an impressive combat system, designed with high-level players in mind. For beginners, we created a set of features that will teach them how to improve and evolve.

The game uses a digital pad and four buttons., two punches and two kicks. You can combine directional inputs and buttons to execute traditional commands from fighting games such as specials, super specials or even Final Attacks.

Elemental System

Each character has an element that represents their strength. An element can be physical or supernatural. You can accumulate up to 2 attacks on the elemental bar. Through this system, it is possible to execute elemental attacks that have different characteristics from the others and bring new offensive or defensive possibilities for the player:

Cancel System
It allows the player to cancel special attacks into elemental attacks, spending the elemental gauge and half of the power gauge.

This system allows the player to cancel special attacks into super specials. Like E.Cancel, this also has a cost: 1 stock of the Power Bar plus half of it.

Taunt
During a match, provocations can bring advantages and disadvantages. When you taunt, the opponent can lose half of their power bar due to being angry. Depending on their personality or relationship with your character, different reactions can happen. Be careful, though: During the taunt animation, the character is vulnerable to attacks.

Breaker
The best defense against an opponent's pressure, it can be done while blocking or being hit. It costs half of the elemental bar.

Character Status
In the character selection screen, along with the fighter's portrait, there are 4 attributes that describe their gameplay: Strength, Speed, Range and Difficulty. You can see them in more detail by pressing the Details button. In this menu, you can check their bio, that includes their nationality, full name, abilities, archetype and some of their input commands. This can help a beginner to know if a character fits with their preferred gameplay style.

Shortcuts
If you are still learning, you’ll have the possibility to use simplified commands. This way you only need to press a single button to make special, super special moves or the final attack. To enable this feature, just go to the options or do it directly on the character selection screen. (Not available on Online Matches).

Accessibility
We implement colorblind effects and are working to bring more accessibility options to the final version of the game.
Languages
The game will feature 12 languages, (this number may increase, depending on our fans). We want our product to be accessible for players who speak totally different languages.

If the $ 30,000 extended goal is reached, the game will receive a new game mode called TAG STRIKE, which will be played in doubles battles, in the already traditional TAG system (as in Mortal Kombat 9 or The King Fighters XI), but in addition, the player will have the help of assistants, who must be chosen from extra characters (as in Marvel vs Capcom or The King of Fighters 2000).
Master level supporters (or higher) will be able to have their own character as an assistant, be it some original character or some character made from scratch for our universe.

In terms of basic content, approximately 50% - 60% of the game is done.

We have already released another game, which is part of the same universe as Pocket Bravery, called Guns N’ Runs. It’s a stylish platform, action and shooting game, containing super specials and fast-paced Dash mechanics. In summary, it’s a game that refers to classics like Mega Man, Metal Slug and Celeste. Everything we have done has been financed by our personal savings, some services provided to third parties and the help of some friends and family. However, to continue creating the game, we need your help. Our goal is to finish Pocket Bravery, no matter how long it takes, but we want to keep the development at full speed, as has been done so far.
