Online video needs to be updated for the 21st century. Film and television each have their own traits that set them apart from one another, but what separates online video? Will it be 30 second cat videos or yet another video of someone inflicting bodily harm on themselves? Or can online video be something more?
That's where we believe interactive video comes in. No other form of video allows you to decide the outcome of a story or shape the way it plays out.
This wasn't even possible a few years ago. We're not talking about YouTube annotations that after you click on them, you have to wait 10 seconds for the next video segment to load. Our director tried that already with some moderate success –

With companies like
Interlude,
Rapt Media,
Adventr,
Vidzor, and many others popping up every month, interactive video has become a seamless experience. No longer did you have to stop the story and wait for the next video segment to load – viewers can make a choice and that choice is instantly played before they can blink.
And we thought the perfect genre to show off what interactive video can really be is the HORROR genre. How many times have you watched a horror movie and yelled at the characters on the screen for being such idiots? Now with Requiem you have the chance to be that idiot! You can run towards danger or do the smart thing and run for your life. Plus there's something about combining interactive video and horror that makes it even scarier. You'll be on the edge of your seat waiting to make the next decision and wondering what's just around the next corner.

After trying to figure out a way to monetize interactive video for over a year, we decided to just do it ourselves and not worry about making money on this film. We want the world to enjoy this new type of filmmaking with an awesome story and we don't want to have to wait to figure out how to "brand" it or be able to show investors how they're going to make all their money back. Plus who wants to see a pop-up ad for cosmetics or the latest designer jeans right before they watch a horror movie? That's just not scary.

We need your help!
- SPREAD THE WORD – Even if you can't donate then share our campaign with your friends and family. Follow us on social media and post the Indiegogo link on your own Twitter and Facebook pages – http://facebook.com/RequiemVideo & http://twitter.com/RequiemVideo
- SUPPORT FINANCIALLY –We're just going to be up front about this. Filmmaking isn't cheap and horror is especially expensive with all the special effects and visual effects that go into it. We want Requiem to really shine and we're not interested in making a home video quality found footage type film. All the exciting surreal production design, gushing blood, and visual effects cost a bit of money.
- EQUIPMENT – If you're in LA and your Arri Alexa or RED Epic is just lying around, we'd love to take it off your hands for a few days. Or if you have a sweet lighting kit, technocrane, or dolly you don't mind sharing, it would help us tremendously.
- CREW – We need YOUR skills and professional talents to make Requiem. If you live in Los Angeles and would like to help us make this amazing video, we're interviewing for crew positions now. All the way from the DP, Production Designer, and SFX/VFX Supervisor positions down to wonderful PAs. Get in touch with us at RequiemInteractiveVideo@gmail.com.
But we don't expect you to just give us your money for nothing in return. In addition to bringing you an awesome interactive video early next year, we have some awesome perks to give you in return. We won't get into the details here (just look to the right), but we have exclusive supporter posters, t-shirts, and early access to the video.
We also want to help you create you own videos, whether interactive or not. Use our experience whether it's in producing, directing, writing, or acting to help you with your latest script or your own indie production with the perks to the right.
Our exclusive behind the scenes videos will take you all the way from writing an interactive video to production to post-production and finally marketing/distribution.
Please note that all perks are separate. So if you want a t-shirt and access to the behind the scenes videos, you have to pledge the total amount for both those perks combined and then let us know which perks you want. We think it's easier this way for you and ourselves rather than giving everything below what the pledged amount. You get what you want and we won't send you something you don't want.

We can't stress enough how this project will not happen without your support. We believe we're doing something exciting that's never been done before and we want you to be a part of it.
1st Goal – $3,000 For this amount of money we can make a high quality video and show you what interactive video can really be when done right. But we do have to cut some corners when making a video for this amount of money. This means we won't be paying any of the cast or crew (and the best are usually expensive), there will be no VFX in the video (unless a VFX artist donates a lot of time), and the locations will not be as grand as we envisioned in our minds.
Not to say the $3,000 version won't be a great video. It will just be a lot harder to make and it won't be the fullest potential we know Requiem could be.
1st Stretch Goal – $7,000 If as many people are excited about Requiem as we are and help us blow past our first goal, we'd love to bring a higher quality video to you. If we can reach our 1st stretch goal, we can make sure to include all the VFX shots we're hoping to include in the video. We believe this version of Requiem will be a much more visually stunning work and will really engross viewers in the film.
2nd Stretch Goal – $10,000 Let's say horror fans unite behind Requiem and help us reach far beyond our 1st stretch goal. In addition to being eternally grateful and overwhelmed, we can finally pay the crew at this level and hire the best people to make Requiem a reality. That means all the production design and SFX that we're currently trying to figure out how to make on an ultra-low budget can really be done right and look amazing. The more money we can raise the better the final Requiem video will be.
Thank you again for supporting Requiem and helping us make this film a reality. Whether it's through financial support or just spreading the word, we couldn't make this video without you!
