Who We Are:
Maggie Budzyna (Director): Maggie Budzyna has directed three short films. Her most recent one “One Day Till Tomorrow” will soon be released. Her first short film “Censored” was an official selection of the Mill Valley Film Festival and Sacramento Film and Music Festival. She directed a documentary short next titled “We Are The Mass Shooting Generation” which focused on the March For Our Lives and the gun reform law movement in America. This short won the Youth Visions Prize at the Social Justice Film Festival, 3rd Place in the Youth Free Expression contest, and was nominated for Best Youth Documentary at the Newark International Film Festival. Maggie also has directed seven musicals through her nonprofit The Performing Project. She knows women are largely underrepresented as directors, and she hopes her work will help to inspire more young girls to become directors.
Aidan O'Connor (Cinematographer): Aidan is a current sophomore at Newburyport High School. He was also the cinematographer for “One Day Till Tomorrow”, another short that Maggie Budzyna directed that will soon be hitting the festival circuit. “Life is a Movie”, a short Aidan conceived, directed, and shot, was an official selection of the Boston International Kids Film Festival 2018. At school Aidan created an Independent Study project to provide digital media art to the theater program and was recognized by the principal for his achievements in film, including a short film for a school event called “Clipper Things”, a spinoff of the popular “Stranger Things”.

What We Need & What You Get
We need to raise 1,000 dollars to make this project happen. This will pay for equipment rental, paying the actors involved a stipend, cover the cost of location, and allow us to provide food for the cast and crew.
Any little bit you can donate is so appreciated! We have multiple levels of support listed with their perks, but a donation of any amount is welcome.
The Impact
The mission of this film is to bring to light the difficulties that many parents living in less than ideal circumstances face when it comes to childcare. By creating this film and bringing it to festivals we hope to spread awareness about this very real but often overlooked issue.
This film is also unique in that is directed by a young woman. Since the Oscar's birth in 1929 there have been only four women nominated for best director, and only one woman who has won. By supporting this film you're showing your support for the next generation of female filmmakers who hope to change the female representation in modern day cinema.
