Who are we?
We are the New Product Development class at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts, and we are creating a new application. We have chosen to undertake a new venture to solve a problem that exists in our day-to-day lives.
The Problem?
We all know that the process of going out to eat with a group of people can turn into a mess. Indecision runs rampant, conflicting ideas on where to eat, what to eat, and how much to spend.
What is Restaurant Roulette?
Enter Restaurant Roulette, the one-stop destination for all of your dining needs. Menus, addresses, reservation information, and reviews all in one place. However, we do not simply provide you with the appropriate information. Restaurant Roulette, after receiving inputs from everyone in your party, can choose the perfect restaurant that not only meets every member of your party’s needs, but gets you out into your city so that you can explore new restaurants in new neighborhoods for brand new experiences.
How does it work?
Step 1) Invite friends to the Restaurant Roulette “Table”
Step 2) Input personal filters such as likes, dislikes, price-point, and desired location.
Step 3) Spin the wheel. Let Restaurant Roulette provide you with the ideal restaurant for the “Table”.
Step 4) Restaurant selection. Either go forward with the restaurant we have provided you with, or choose the “list” feature to see the next 3 or 5 best matches for an easy selection process.
Step 5) Lets eat! After making your selection, you will be provided with all of the information you need. Restaurant hours, menus, reviews, the address, and either the phone number or the OpenTable link of the restaurant so that you may make a reservation for your party.
The Impact
In a perfect world, everybody would use Restaurant Roulette, and the planet would be ridded of the terrible plague of dining indecision forever!
While we do realize that we are not quite superheroes (yet, anyway), we are simply on a mission to achieve one goal: making your lives easier.
Become closer with your friends by inviting them to go out to the perfect restaurant for all of you and have a great night on the town. Save yourselves the time and hassle of picking where to eat and let us take care of it for you, so you can enjoy the company of your best friends.
Why We Need Your Help?
Sadly, Developing an app is very expensive. We need your help to make Restaurant Roulette a reality, so most of the campaign funds will be going to creating Restaurant Roulette and making it available to you, the public.
We want to create the best dining experience for as many people as possible, so a part of the campaign funds will also go towards spreading the word and making sure everyone knows about Restaurant Roulette to help them rid their lives of indecision.
