Overview
Renovating our 3rd floor ballroom has become a necessity in order to comply with state laws and to keep us from being shut down. Help us to #SaveJamesStreet and keep this historical music venue open! ANY contributions will get us one step closer to sound proofing so we can continue to provide live, local, music and contribute as a part of the Deutschtown community we all know and love.

Live music is our passion at James Street.  Myself, Kevin Saftner, first ventured into the music industry before I could drive.  I saved up to purchase DJ equipment, started DJing numerous events & booking battle of the bands....back when they were cool.  The same excitement that drove me towards music still remains with me to this day and will never go away.

As you probably have heard James Street is in need of your help.  We must renovate the Ballroom (upstairs) or face dire consequences.  Everybody here loves not only the Pittsburgh music scene, but the other diverse groups and events we have had through the door.  Our only goal is to continue to be a hub for anybody looking for a venue to express themselves.

With your help you will not only help us keep our 30 employees and their families fed, but you will help Pittsburgh musicians, artists & many others too. James Street is honored to host the Legendary Roger Humphries weekly Jam Session.  It would be terrible to have this tradition end because of the issues we are facing.  We are also honored to work with young up and coming musicians such as the Bleil Brothers, Anton DeFade, George Heid III & countless others.  Again, nothing would be worse than having these aspiring artists lose yet another venue to perform at.  James Street is not merely a music venue though.  We host Drag Brunch, Burlesque shows, Private events, Swing Dances, Church Groups & so much more.  There would be nothing worse than closing our doors to all of these amazing people.

In order to #SaveJamesStreet we need to raise approximately $30,000.  This money will go to sound proof the Ballroom as well as to install air conditioning and new electrical work.  We are asking you who to help us with just a small percent of the total cost.

When we finish renovating the Ballroom we are excited to open it back up to you and all of the talented performers you are accustomed to seeing there.

On top of this Indiegogo we will be hosting numerous fundraising events with the help of the community.  We truly hope you can come out and enjoy!
